  • The auto industry is McCotter's achilles heel. He's a staunch fiscal conservative small-gov guy except for that. But given his district he may not be able to get away with applying free market principles to his constituents' livelihoods.

  • Sorry, this program is just wrong. God bless the benefits already enjoyed due to the "stimulus", but no more. Perfectly good cars are being destroyed along with true clunkers. Anyone motivated to buy a NEW car now could have afforded it anyway - the process has been accelerated by the rebate. Put the money back into the hands of the people who earned it, and it'll be spread throughout the economy, not just the auto industry.
