So then they scrapped it all and released the all new 06-07, people think they are overpowered and don't turn as well but the truth is you can get more out of it, it just feels scarier. My 06 is 357 pounds with a GP exhaust and some other weight saving measures and it is rediculous in all aspects. After 07 ZX-10s kept getting heavier and the new one is 50 lbs over my stock 380lbs competition still cant touch them, so that should tell you the real story. Best on the street not in gp series though

why nobody considers the reduction ratios??? R1 has some RPM more and so has shorter reduction ratios (8% shorter).

The torque curve of R1 is sligthly lower and less "funny" studied for a different driving style! The ZX 04 has a great engine but aweful brakes a and many other problems!

many other problems such as what and whats wrong with the brakes???57 000miles on my 04 and it runs bettter than new, engine wise all i have done is the valves and cct and ive wrecked it 4 times 3 times over 120mph.any stock bikes brakes other than a ducati will be spongy and weak, ss lines and pads will fix this.unless you ride like rossi on the track you dont need better brakes

im a fan of yamaha and but a bigger fan of kawasaki i own an 05 zx10r and my mate owns the r1 which i have ridden. the r1 has more torque on the bottom end power and is less aggresive in the higher rpm rev range. the zx10r in comparison it is sluggish in the torque power on the bottom end but makes up for it in the higher rev range with the horsepower if ucan keep the zx10r singing all the time personally it has the edge over the r1 same thing with the cbr1000 of that year

I have both, and it depends on the rider. If you have not ridden both, it would be wise to let others who have judge. The 10 is more aggressive it takes less thought to handle and is a very unforgiving bike. The R-1 has much less on the bottom and inspires you to give it more throttle thus allowing you to think more about the handling, in my opinion its smoother than the 10, but a much more physical bike. Gufaccio got it right, in his statement. In other words... The 10 is not for punks!

Truth about this. Doesn't matter what the video shows. If you compare an 05 R1 vs an 05 ZX-10R in numbers, the ZX wins. IF YOU go by the numbers. The main issue has always been... the 10R is a nightmare to control. Other than that, the numbers of out put are in favor of the Kawasaki. You can check any magazine article and look at the stats. Then again, you're also only talking about tenths of a second too.

Really, now admittedly, I'm a Kawi guy. I rode the R1 and it was uncomfortable as hell but scared the shit out of me. But correct me if i'm wrong, but hasn't Kawi pretty much owned the pro circut for 1000cc+ bikes? Yamaha hasn't won a title since they released the anniversery bike, and before that Suzuki owned the circut. Yamaha hasn't really done anything as far as racing goes. They do scare the crap out of me on the street though, but the Kawi zx6, and yamaha r6 are dead even.
