I also know that most Chinese media is edited by the government. But you should also know that the American government also 'forgets' to add a few facts to most of their broadcasts, and most Americans are too proud to realize that. Bottom line, China will change in time, I'm sure.

Ironically, a country with 2 parties that could not see eye to eye on many issues is politically more stable than a country run by one. Allowing a different voice is crucial China's long term stability. I know thats hard to materialise right now but we would eventually get there. I wonder how chinese people will ever know what is going on in the world if they suffer censorship all the time. They probably don't know about Libya, Jordan, Tunesia, Egypt or anything else. Censorship sucks - china's government sucks

Chinese government is not like you think and if you have chance, you can go to China .we have been very open now, many chinese people complain china, because they totally don't understand their's country.

I don't trust a dictatorship. They will try to silence all critics. Trust me there has never ben a dictatorship that allowed free press, free media, or the ability to choose another government for the country. The nature of dictatorship is prison, silence, and fear. Africa is changing - you are next no matter what. All those who help these regimes will fall. The world is going to be democratic. Chinese people need to wake up...

@taa199 They don't know what is going on in China because they haven't watching our news or search some Chinese website. We can read English words but they can't read any Chinese character. They believe that CNN always tell them the truth. But as we all know, China is not same as the CNN shows.

Free media in China lol, nope.. Continue supporting censorship.. I know for a fact that the regime of pigs block facebook, twitter and youtube. In fact China has set up a new government body to control information on the internet. Beijing operates vast internet censorship, dubbed the "great firewall of China". Websites deemed sensitive by the government are routinely blocked (BBC news 2011).

I was born in China and have visited my family there every few years, and yes, the government has blocked facebook, twitter and youtube, and some other western media. I also know that most Chinese media is edited by the government. But you should also know that the American government also 'forgets' to add a few facts to most of their broadcasts, and most Americans are too proud to realize that. Bottom line, China will change in time, I'm sure.

Yes I hope the chinese people will become masters in their own house one day.. The right to choose your future by electing your own leaders is what is needed. It will take alot of work because old regimes never give up their power easily.. There will always be government secrets and sensitive information, but crticism or expressions of the free will is not in that category - no government should be allowed to silence the voice of a artist, a writer, a poet, a radio, a web page etc. Peace
