Since she's been traveling all over the U.S., Canada, and even France the last 2 years, Ruby now really dresses up for her shows. She's almost 17 now, and doesn't look like a little kid anymore. And her fiddle playing is even better now than it was on this video.

@charliemchenry Ruby is part Cherokee, I don't know about gypsy. But there is literally NOTHING that girl can't play on the fiddle, from classical to bluegrass to Cajun to the Rolling Stones.

Ruby Jane won the Daniel Pearl Memorial Award in 2007 (at age 12), which is awarded every year at the Mark O'Connor Fiddle Camp in California. She knows Mark pretty well, from what I understand. She also played on the Grand Ole Opry at age 9, and again at age 11.
Ruby played onstage with Mark O'Connor at the PopTech Conference in Camden, Maine, on October 24, 2009. You can find a link to an article about Mark & Ruby and also pictures of them performing together on Ruby Jane's website and her facebook.

A friend of mine who is a singer/songwriter said of Ruby Jane "She is better than words can say, the American language has not a word that fits, it is in one's heart, and that is where she comes from." She's just an amazing artist, and she's 14 years old!
