  • Dude, Bob Menendez paid someone to post praise about him online, which was obviously lies, since no one likes Big Bob Menendez.

  • LOL- I knew it! What you don't know is there is already legislation on the books to make any blogger who has more than 500 subscribers have to register in order to blog. The internet is the home of the anti-corruption movement that is growing all the time. They want to silence bloggers. This news story is a set up to the legislation. This is how it works. Do you see?

  • So did the blog-expert Mr Carrol--who I generally like b.t.w.--apologize yet for his laughably obtuse mistake in taking a satirical post on MyDD literally and hanging a good part of his argument on the blunder? 'Twere me, I'd be gasping in shock and horror that I'd made such a tyro error and ashamed to show my face in public for a decade or so, but then I do have a conscience. Always thought Carrol did, too, but maybe I need to revise that opionion

  • Unbelievable, the total ignorance of every single person on the panel. You would think that at least one person on the show would have a clue about blogging.

  • They're shocked that people are getting paid to put forward an opinion? Do these people understand the irony that they are getting paid to do the same thing on TV?

  • Wah fucking wah.

  • fuck tv news shows. bloggers rock. traditional journalism is over. get to the facts - and stop fucking worrying about your hair, make up and suit color.

  • This shocks her? It doesn't shock me at all. That's how it works both in Washington DC and in the corporate world. It's called capitalism.

  • There is no financial transparency on DailyKos.

  • What is the problem with that?

  • It's a political advocacy site. I think political advoccy should be financially transparent. And I'm not interested in libertarian legalisms about private sites. Spare me.

  • How ironic. Wait for it! They forgot to do any real journalism.

  • This is insane, infuriating, and incredibly misleading. Thanks for posting this to YouTube.

  • Why is it insane, infuriating? Do you ever wonder why 9/11/2001 attacks happened? It was over money. That's how it works.

  • Thanks for the grade school lesson therespill99. I thought 9/11/2001 happened because too many people were saying happy holidays instead of merry Christmas.

  • It's insane and infuriating because it's completely false and wrong. They reported on TV that I don't exist. What in the hell does that have to do with 9/11?

  • obviously, this is a humorous response to the "we're all Jerome now" post.

i mean, an established program following up a completely bogus report on bloggers with the host saying that blogger don't have credibility???

    hilarious!

    well done "beat the press"!

  • So let me get this straight... a "serious" political reporter whose righteous indignation at the corruption of those evil bloggers we're supposed to take seriously CAN'T EVEN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HUMOR POST AND THE REAL THING! Or worse, saw the satiric "We are all Jerome" post, and didn't bother to follow up or check things out before making this half of the story?

THIS is why we think the mainstream media is worse than useless, at least as far as political reportage goes.

  • This is a shockingly ill-informed, borderline-slanderous piece. They should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Translation: Its wrong for CONSERVATIVES to pay bloggers or commentators but fine for liberals to do it.

  • Total bullshit all around:

I am not those posters, it was a spoof post made by Jonathan Singer.

I disclosed on MyDD when I went to work with those candidates and didn't blog about them on the site; in fact I stopped blogging till it ended, except about the book I'd written.

The recipient of the funds from Brown and Warner campaigns/organizations was the internet vendor company Political Technologies that has many contractors, and had nothing to do with blogging.

    A six minute retraction?

  • what a convenient excuse for you Jerome Armstrong. Or should I say, "Scott Shields"?
