TV was a bit heavy on game shows where you spun wheels at this time. WOF and TPIR are still on to this day, and you had this show. Didn't Match Game add the Star Wheel not long after this?
I watched this a bunch as a kid in 1977 & 1978 in Michigan & Cali, I remember it being on sometime very late when I'd stay up to watch Twilight Zone. Question: When "Facing the Devil", did anyone ever get the devil ont he very first spin? It seems pretty odd and anti-climactic if someone were to get the Devil right off the bat?
I wish they still did! It was one of the best parts of these old shows, when they'd show the products - such a slice of life from that show's day and time. It pains me to watch "What's My Line?" and "To Tell the Truth" on GSN now, cuz they just BUTCHER them up so badly, cutting off parts as they go to break, disregarding the closing credits and such, all for the sake of squeezing in a few paltry extra seconds of advertising time! I'd be a much more faithful viewer if they left those things in!
Those ads bring more money into the network, and that money could bring shows you love like Press Your Luck back to the schedule in the future. Those ads are part of the reason we get to enjoy reruns of shows like $25K/$100K Pyramid, Feud, and Match Game.
That is because the set from the CBS years (1972-75) was still being used. I believe the following year, after the CBS "Double Dare" game show is long and dead and when "Penny Ante" debut on TPIR, is when the FTD wheel was rebuilt with the sound effect and "Penny Ante" lights.
WWL-TV Channel 4, the CBS affilliate in my hometown, New Orleans, was one of the new stations for TJW. Well, not so new, actually...it carried the CBS Daytime feed of the original TJW in its early '70s heyday.

I love this game. I only wish this show or a reasonable facsimile of one comes. PS. Love all those product plugs. :)

I hate "Press Your Luck." And I hate butchering up shows for the sake of ad time. Sorry.

I think Jack screwed up -- he gave him $775 when it was $675 he stopped at. I'm surprised no one else noticed this...

The sheer amount of mathematical errors in this episode is staggering.

@fredbird67 And Jack looked right up at the total as he gave him that extra $100, lol

It is so odd that the questions have three choices.
