Clannad was truly sad, and the music was the icing on the cake. One could watch Clannad, and after watching, say "the music wasn't depressing enough." The soft melody of Clannad's songs would be enchanting and with the story itself, you would be devastated at the turn of events. It's a must see if you love anime.
