  • This is great! I am wondering how to I apply this on a larger scale like a vu meter tower. I have a one built that is about two feet tall with 10 panels that need to be lit up. any advice would be awesome

  • Is Arduino uno qualify for this task? thanks

  • @kaifu0769 arduino uno will be fine for this project

  • whats the song called???

  • If I got an arduino and I used the led vu meter code am I able to hook this up to my car out side and run it from the batt.? sorry if stupid question lol I'm new to this and I would like to get one and put it into my car and learn more about it but just wanted to know

  • nice job bro

  • wow man nice tutorial! by the way its there any way i can do this without using the aurdino? i want to do this on a psp mod any tips can help! thanx

  • @MrPutoplaya You can use either LM 3914, LM 3915 or LM 3916. 3914 is linear scale, 3915 is logarithmic and 3916 is VU. Before soldering check with a solderless breadboard as you will need to calculate the resistances from the calculations on the datasheet and test them.

  • THANK YOU! I just realised how to adjust the input sensitivity!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Tutorial and Video!!!

I just had one question regarding the hardware you used in your video, where did you get your jumper wires for your breadboard? They are exactly what I need and can't find them anywhere :(.

    Thanks in advance :).

  • @SteakANDBurger there are loads of places such as cool components, oomlout etc i have a list of places i have used to buy components for arduino, mbed etc at robomaniac123.zxq.net and thanks :)

  • @JamesNewby123 Thanks for that, I ended up finding them! :)

  • i know this is a bit late but you could just stick the negative leads of the LEDs directly in the ground rail, and save half of the jumper wires

  • @VALKIR4636 that is what i have done

  • what song is this

  • my audio jack only has two wires. please help :)

    nice tutorial

  • @iBizkitas That is a mono cable which you can just connect one to ground(Black) and the other to analog(0). Thanks glad you like it :)

  • @JamesNewby123 Thanks solved that one. The VU meter works but how do i hear the sound when my audio-in is occupied? I tried a splitter but the sound quality is bad.

  • @iBizkitas Sorry for a late reply but you could always hook up the unused lead to your speakers and leave the other lead only connected to your arduino
