  • this sounds better than the actual album. so sick.

  • Dan looks like Obi-wan Kenobi from episode 1

  • So. Fucking. Perfect. I hope I get a chance to see you guys live next time you hit the US.

  • Jake Bowen from Periphery added this to his favorites

  • I like both Periphery and Tesseract, but Tesseract has more 'epics' like Dream Theater-ish. It doesn't really sound like Dream Theater but it has the same kind of feel to it.

  • Ill continue to share tesseract's material with everyone i know !

  • And Amos! might i add your vocals sound like a fuckin axe wielding viking barbarian in the process of decapitating your worst enemy

  • Where the hell can i find an interview with Acle! that dude hates the camera or something, everytime i see him not jammin out, he will say something completely folly and disappear! haha

  • do you guys record like this? or is it just for the vid...?

  • This is damn good but I miss the outro to the old version of Part 5.

  • EPIC is all i can say fellow djentlemen!

  • One of my favorite pieces of music, period. Tesseract will always rule. \m/ I was so pissed that traffic prevented my two friends and I from seeing them at the show in Chicago on 11/11/11.

  • Too bad Eliot wasn't singing for this =\

  • @masonghc Eliot can't sing or scream any of these parts properly live.

I'm looking forward to hearing their next album where he's able to do his own thing, but I don't ever want to hear him attempt to sing Dan's parts again.

    He doesn't have the range.

  • @MatthewtheBass D'awww, I love dans vocals for the album too. I've only heard Eliot sing one of the songs(Wasn't all that bad) But yeah I'm really really looking forward to hearing the new album with him in it.

  • i still thought abi was the best vocalist :'(

  • When the singer screams, i got a shocked because i didnt expect it to be a metal kind of feel.

  • can't get over how good "One" is. Every time i listen to it, it gets better. Thanks for the amazing inspirational music! I look forward to the next album.

  • drummer looks like tomas haake!

  • Tesseract, you have givin' my life meaning. I got a pirate copy of "one", but it wasn't good enough, and I felt too guilty to have something this awesome for free, so I bought it. I love you guys <3

  • 8:30 ooohh yeeeaaaah.

  • They only recorded one song at a time right?

  • @jajajah86 Due to filming limitations we had to break it into 4 parts. P1. P2+3. P4+5. P6. But, ofetn play the whole thing in one go at gigs.

  • GAH FINALLY!!!

  • Really brilliant compilation of music. Remains one of my favorites.

  • This is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard.

  • Total fucking radness!

  • Sounds 100x better than the EP/Album version. I've grown a whole new appreciation for this brilliant composition.

  • You guys are legends for doing this. Every good progressive band should.

  • Hey, anyone else think it would've been cool if Mos did ALL the screaming?

  • I really love it.

  • This is how you record an EP...

  • ooooookay I guess I'll press the like button

  • Cheers on a great production \m/

  • This is such a magical confluence of material & musicians.

  • 17:37 Jay means business.

  • I didn't know Lee Dorian played bass for these guys!

  • I'd give my left leg for this kind of extraordinary songwriting ability. I'd then give my right leg for Mos's hair...

  • who voted for "no"?!

  • at first i didnt understand tessaract, but gave them a listen out of respect for their musical skill. Then i heard that riff at 07:57 and i understood it all suddenly.

  • @Baseyg6 That fucking riff/breakdown is fucking boss. I look forward to that part and when i hear it i go fucking crazy....i saw these guys live and that part live is just absolute devastation lol

  • dan, i hope we will meet someday in future, don't die young. Make that promise!!

  • Why Danny has left the band? I prefer him than this new guy!

  • Uh, fuk yea?

  • I love this video, but the editor needs to be slapped for not keeping Dan congruent with what he's doing with the mic. Sometimes it's on the stand, next second it's in his hand and he's belting out a note. What gives?

  • Going on 4. Still only getting better.

  • Must be hard using rubber drums sticks.

  • That Dan Tompkins sure can sing.

  • Dan's vocals are stunning, Eargasm!

  • ohhh shit....you done fudged the bucket....whoever disliked this video....it is my life goal to slaughter you in the name of TesseracT.

  • Probably the best 28 minutes of my life.

  • When they released the album one.. they didnt release and album.. they released a masterpiece.

Honestly the biggest inspiration in my life and it keeps me going when lifes being a giant jeb.

I also miss dan. He was honestly the perfect fit for them and they were for him.

I am looking forward to see the next album with eliot.. hopefully he'll be awesome now hes got his own 'thing' and 'space' to work with, but most importantly keeping the feel of these amazing and insanely friendly guys.

  • Finished! /o/

Oww man... That 7th string freak me out! Awesome!

  • Love this video, love all their songs, and I love Tesseract. They are awesome live too!

  • Idk what their old vocalist sounds like, but i like this guy

  • @BuyMeAKoala This is the old one.

  • @PhiKris Oh, then I'm joining with you guys on being angry for him being replaced

  • @BuyMeAKoala This IS the old one, the new ones a beardy feller with plugs

  • @BreanMate I know, PhiKris informed me. and I feel stupid because I saw them live one day 1 of the Saints And Sinners tour. and the beardy fellow with plugs was the vocalist then If i remember right

  • When I hear this song, obviously that it wraps me till' the end.

  • Lol I thought it meant live in concert. Oh well :P

  • I hope everyone's watching all 28 minutes.

  • 15:00 gave me chills

  • If ONLY this band offered Instrumental-only versions of the album I'd love them to death. However, I fucking despise their shitty vocalist. Come to think of it, most "Djent" bands have god-awful vocals. (Periphery comes to mind.) The only "Djent" bands that don't have horrible vocals are (of course) Meshuggah, and Vildhjarta. Damn shame, because I would otherwise love this band.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH

This vocalist is a lot more tolerable than others, but an instrumental version would be nice.

  • @ContractorTwobitz I've just been informed that there is.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH They have an instrumental version of Concealing Fate

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH Man i agree with you 100% but have u ever heard there old vocalist he was awesome !! don't know why they replaced him with this shit :/

  • @jimmy85819 Your ears are terrible; this is the same singer from both Concealing Fate and One.

The new guy doesn't nearly have the same vocal range, and has a low growl, no high scream

  • @MatthewtheBass Man i was talking about danniel in comparison with there old black singer from the demo !! Wtf did you think i was talking about ?

  • @jimmy85819 I've never heard the 'demo', so I can't comment on that, and Dan no longer sings for them.

And as I previously mentioned to another poster, calling this singer 'shitty' only serves to make you look like a kid who doesn't have the ability to properly express his opinions.

You may not like his style, but he's obviously very talented; his range, control, and pitch accuracy are incredible.

  • @jimmy85819 I'll check it out.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH They've replaced the vocalist, Elliot Coleman does vocals now.

  • @BreanMate What does he sound like?

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH Not nearly the same clean singing range, he has to use falsetto to get to a good half of the notes, and only a low growl, no screaming abilities.

I originally saw them at The Troubadour with Dan opening for Protest the Hero, and they blew me away; I just saw them at HoB opening for BtBaM, and I walked out halfway through their set.

Not a suitable fit for the band, I really hope they keep looking.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH There is an instrumental version of their album One.

  • @PhiKris Wonderful! Thank you.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH I never re-comment on Youtube videos, but comparing this singer to the singer of Periphery shows a total lack of a discerning ear on your part; his vocal control, range, and pitch accruacy are all quite incredible, as his ability to seemlessly blend in screams, also at perfect pitch.

    No pitch correction ANYWHERE.

His style might not be to your liking, but calling him 'shitty' only serves to make you look incredibly foolish, as the man is obviously very talented

  • @MatthewtheBass "Shitty" singing is in the eye of the beholder. As I have told another user (right below you)

"I'm not saying he sucks objectively. I'm just saying that I PERSONALLY hate his singing. I prefer the singers for Vildhjarta and Meshuggah, It's just a stylistic preference. I wasn't trolling, I was simply stating my subjective views."

    Fair enough?

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH That's fine, but next time instead of going on an emotionally charged diatribe, ie 'I fucking despise their shitty vocalist', you can simply say that you prefer metal without any clean/melodic vocals.

To my knowledge, neither of the vocalists from Vildhjarta nor the fellow from Meshuggah do any actual singing, their styles are based entirely around screaming/growling; they are very talented vocalists, but calling them 'singers' is a bit of a stretch.

  • @MatthewtheBass Traces is the only 'Jarta song that I know of with clean vocals.

  • @MatthewtheBass Perhaps I overreacted, for sure, but I really do dislike this guy. And as a matter of fact, I very much enjoy quite a bit of clean singing in Metal. I just don't like really nasal, high-pitched vocals. I prefer tenors and lower. I also come from a unique position in that, in addition to being a fan of metal I also used to sing and I am involved with music on a management level. So I feel a certain indignation when an otherwise wonderful band is destroyed by a bad vocalist.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH And again, the guy from Periphery doesn't have anywhere near the range, pitch accuracy, or consistency as Dan does, either live or in the studio.

    That is an objective statement.

  • @MatthewtheBass Admittedly, that's true. I compared them on the basis of having the same irksome, obnoxious high voice. I prefer men who sing like men is all. But hey, the guy can't help it. He's just sings several octaves above what I like hearing is all. I wasn't expecting a ton of comments haranguing me on my subjective opinion, lol.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH If this guy is shitty, what is your idea of a good singer then?

  • @Deschuttes I'm not saying he sucks objectively. I'm just saying that I PERSONALLY hate his singing. I prefer the singers for Vildhjarta and Meshuggah, It's just a stylistic preference. I wasn't trolling, I was simply stating my subjective views.

  • @S3NT13NTGL1TCH that's neat. I'm not a huge fan of the meshuggah vocalist. I keep trying to like them but I can't. Love the instrumentals though.

  • officially, okay, but where's my HD? :)

  • DAN! <3

  • I approve of this message.

  • I listen to this whole album everyday as I drive to and from work.

Seriously, perfect mix of elements in a single band.

  • Amazing
