i agree with most except diego sanchez i think he has worked his hands and got better he isnt a great striker but i think he has gotten alot better on it
205 overrated- forrest griffin and keith jardine. they may be nice guys but garbage at fighting. griffin fights like a gorilla and jardine fights like a caveman. not too effective...
lesnar can kick ass idk what ur talkin about.but he does need to learn sum submissions.but mii fav fighter is bj"the prodigy"penn.look up penn vs stevenson you will see y i like him
idk if anyone has already posted this or not but Diego Sanchez was diagnosed with staph the day after the fight and was sick on the eve of the fight with Kosheck.
I take back what I I said about Machida. Now that he is finishing fights, he deserves recognition, the guy6 has no holes in his game that I can see. Finishing fights, at least trying means alot to me. I love the ground game , I'm not one of those, I just wanna see guys brawl type, but I do not like decisions mostly. Only up until right after that post I made has Machida stopped being the decision machine he is, and now he was even stalking Evans Down, and he's picture perfect striking.
Diego needs to work on his stand up?! I guess you didnt see how well he did against Luigi. Luigi is a bigger guy and most of his wins are KO's. Machida definetly deserves a title shot.
Machida most overrated????? I know I heard you wrong. Lets face it the guy is a runner. He lands a few leg kicks, a jab or two, gets maybe 1 takedown, then runs for the rest of the round. Sure a sound gameplan, but sooner or later, someone is gonna learn not to chase this guy around, and hes gonna lose Bigtime, or he'll just not engage and there will be no fight....
machida is a good fighter, but the problem is he is TOO elusive TOO careful, and thats what makes him a boring fighter. Once he starts taking more chances he will deserve a shot. Other than that I agree wit everything, good criticism good job
Im a HUGE Lyoto fan, & I hear this all the time, how the UFC will not give him a title shot because of his style. Now Im on the same page with this statement but don't u think that if he keeps winning whether it be by UD, Sub,or TKO\KO that they will have 2 give him 1, that they can't deny him his shot. If Lyoto beats Silva & beats 2 more quality fighters would they not have 2 give him is dues?
the winner of the machida silva fight was supposed to get a title shot.
But i think they are going to delay that to give a Rampage vs Evans event since it will sell a lot more PPV's, but hopefully we can see machida get his rightful shot at the title and take it.
Agree totally with Bisping being overrated. I like the guy and he's a good fighter but people are touting him as the guy to beat Anderson Silva and that's just ridiculous. He's got nothing for Silva or really any top guys in the 185 division.
What problems did Rahad Evans give Bisping? none at all at was a very close fight and Mike took his best punches. Evans knocked Griffin and Lidell out. Bisping fought Schafer in his first fight Sinosic in the first UFC back in England (he couldnt lose that could he) then steadily tougher people in Hamill , Evans. Now he is in a better weight class and started on Mcarthy and was supposed to have Leben 2nd but he was in jail so J Day was a replacement! his 3rd fight is Hendo or Franklin.
Manchida could still get a shot. If he beats Thiago Silva, it'll shoot him up a little bit. And if he wins that or if Silva wins, they need to be matched up with Rampage and then the winner of that gets Rashad. Thats how I think it should go. I agree with Chuck and Lesner. Good video man, you know what your talking about.
I agree with Machida being underrated. Hes a very well skilled fighter but it sucks hes referred to as a boring fighter by most. With stars like Hendo and Franklin in the 205mix, Rampage avenging a loss to Wand, It does really look like Machida wont be seeing a title shot anytime soon. Also depending on what happens between Coleman and Shogun.... if coleman wins, I see Dana putting him in the title shot category due to his age. It just shoots Machida farther down the latter.
I take it your a Bisping hater. He has never been in trouble in any of his fights. He has fought and beat a very experienced submission guy in Sinosec, beat a olympic caliber wrestler in Hamil, lost a narrow decision to current LHW champ Evans, and has beat a brawler and hard ass in Leben. I know he doesnt win his fights in spectacular fashion but wins regardless.
Not a Bisping hater at all, like I said, unbiasedly I picked him for the reasons I stated in the video. I knew lol that I was going to catch flack for that pick, but looking at who he has fought unbiasedly, and the way the UFC has promoted him, thats why I put him on there. You can't take away his skills, and your exactly right he has won his fights, he is a talented fighter, I respect him, and I think he will be a top guy at 185 here in the next couple months, if not here in the next year...
but at this point in time, because of his wins, and because the UFC is talking a title shot after his next fight, I place him on there. Hope I cleared up why I placed him on there. Thanks for the comment.
Franklin is one of my most underrated. No one gives him any credit, but he has only lost to two men - Silva & Machida - two of the very best. Machida is currently undefeated and Silva is arguably the best P4P in the world right now. I think Franklin will beat Henderson and I'd also give him a great chance against Evans, Rampage or Griffin.
I dont like this topic so much I think it can credit and bash all fighters in MMA who are brought up in this discussion. HOwever, its good to acknowledge the fighters who deserved to be recognized. Now as for the fighters going thru SLUMPS I think they are still fighters regardless of their career situtaions it happens to every one. So to judge a fighter is just wrong because their the ones getting in there to fight, we just watch. Matt Serra couldnt have said it better arguing with Marc Laimon.
It is a rough topic, but it is something that I shouldve mentioned in the video, and that is, these guys regardless deserve respect for putting their bodies on the line, and stepping into the ring or the cage.
Well I will save my prediction for another day, but this is going to be a great fight. Rich has had issues with the clinch, and with Hendo's Greco, it could be a rough day, however, Hendo is a smaller 205er, it should be interesting to see how Hendo deals with Franklins size and reach.
Great analysis but to say Brock is overrated is starting to become a tired tune. It's obvious he needs work on certain things but it's hard to peg him as overrated when he beat two of the most experienced HW's in MMA; Herring & Couture. I think if he destroys Mir than we can safely say he's NOT overrated. The guy is a better athlete than 80% of the HW's in MMA today and it has to be recognized.
He is overrated in the sense that he is overhyped. At this point in his career, if he competes against any guy with either similiar wrestling plus BJJ, or just BJJ, he is going to have some issues. Herring, and Couture neither have strong BJJ skills, even though Randy is def a solid grappler, he has never been great off his back. This is rough b/c I am not saying that he isn't going to be good, or he isn't, or that he doesn't have solid wrestling..
or that he isn't a great athlete. I am looking at this purely from an MMA perspective, he is still way to young in this sport, and still has alot to work on, even if he beats Mir. If he beats Mir, then you are most definitely right, he proves himself. I personally think Lesnar is legit, and is going to be a solid HW, but from an MMA perspective, and unbiasedly he still has some work to do. If he beats Mir, he def proves alot.
I know what you are saying lol, Thanks for the comment, and as always the kind words and the support, I hope I cleared up the purpose of why I put him on there.
Thanks Greg, where have you been man? Def have missed your videos. If you are looking for a comeback lol, I am doing my MMA Roundup Year In Review Video tomorrow, would love to hear your response.
