I love how they use the song as a narrative and not just a background. They really redefine ice dancing, and emphasize its difference from pair skating. Before, I always thought ice dancing as just a watered-down version of pair skating.

that is the perfect way to describe their dances. I felt the same way about their performance at Vancouver. Most ice dancers perform in a series of movements, lift after lift. Virtue and Scott tell stories.

I have been totally in awe of Tessa and Scott's artistry since the Olympics and,evident in this video,they were amazingly looking like seasoned pros even 2 years ago!

I agree with you. I love how their routines are not over the top with ridiculous outfits like many ice dancers. They combine grace, artistry and athleticism. I also love the choice of Umbrellas of Cherbourg as their music. If you haven't seen the film, you must, it's soooo romantic.

im just wondering if anyones seen them perfom 4 continents in 2008, would you say their costumes are better at worlds or at 4cc? personally i think the pink dress from 4cc fit the program better especially because theyre telling the story from the movie, and although this one is beautiful, i thought it made her look a little more grown up and the character in the movie is only supposed to be 17. what do you think?

This is probably the dance that made me love this couple. The music is called The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and when the dance first came out we were told that the music is about a young woman who has just seen her boyfriend that she thought had passed away in the war. When she sings " je ne veux pas" it is when she is admitting she did not see him and that is why she is with this other man. As the music goes on they start singing of their undyiing love for each other. It is the best thing EVER

If you look up Les Parapluie de Cherbourg you will see scenes from the the movie. The song is about how he bf has to leave for war and she does not want to see him go.

I think what makes them so great is that they actually emote when they skate, whether or not they are in love we do not know but you believe it. You can see she trusts him and he takes care of her...it is just a pleasure to watch this everytime.

Yeah I was lucky, I live quite near Sweden. But it's more difficult to get to Los Angeles now, it's too long a way.. But Don't they skate the Compulsory Dance today? They DID win the free skate with this program (obviously)! But they were behind after the CD and OD (I think they had some mistakes, but not sure), so they finished 2nd overall.

What a wonderful performance! Amazing maturity and interpretation for such a technically demanding FS! Not that you could tell how difficult it was, they made it look so easy!

It will break my heart if they turn pro after winning the Olympics!
