Hey Jammers5; jammergreg here: >) I have been using the Blues Jr III all summer. I used the Z for the big stuff. But last Friday I used the Blues Jr at a big venue and it kicked out some volume & tone. The Wreck must Kill too ! Take Care
@jammergreg man we are like twins eh? LOL! Similar nicknames on here, similar tastes in amp....cool! The blues Jr mic'd is an incredible amp for gigs, but the Z Wreck is instant cure for G.A.S.!!!
I love the Eminence Cannabis Rex w/ my Blues Jr III.. It's the best speaker' IMHO'' for the Blues Jr. I'm using it for everything & my other set-up is a Dr Z Remedy. The Blues Jr has the ''sparkle mod''. I got my Humboldt Blues Jr from Pro Guitar Shop.
@txedo23 Certainly, to a certain degree anyhow, speaker selection is a matter of personal taste. In this instance, the V30, to my ears, is better suited to the "more treble" producing BJIII. The V30 with its enhanced mid-range voicing complements it very well. I used the Blues Junior at a jam recently and was blown away by the tone I was able to get out of it with just a Sonic Edge J&J Overdrive boosting it a little! I own a BJII with a stock speaker and the V30 sounds better to me!
interesting, thanks for the reply, ive been getting into alot of blues guitar and im trying to read forums on the best amp that suits my needs and has the sound im looking for. i came to the conclusion that its the blues jr that i wanted, then i realized there were all these versions! too many choices :P and theres just too much info on the internet its hard to sort through sometimes, so i appreciate your help
@superiansuper The sparkle mod is a couple of changes to the PCB board involving a couple of capacitors that gives the BJ a brighter, spankier & slightly warmer tone. (C10 removed, jumper added C9 removed altogehter) Some ppl have criticized that the mod makes the amp more treble-y, others praise it as making the amp sound more like a true Fender amp.
What I really like about the amp is how the V30 in the Ltd Edition with it's enhanced mid-range compliments the higher treble produced!
you only use a fender? what about junkbuckers :P

@jammers5 yea, so no need to be so sensitive. i was simply stating that it was a catch 22. i was bashing hum(tone) f-uckers, not you.

hello, thanks for the video
i was just wondering if in your opinion, the v30 speaker is better than the stock speaker. or is it just a matter of preference
