its a motoGP track in holland Assen has a long history, there a 2 races that can call himself TT ( tourist trophy) the other is island of man  in england, Assen started in 1925...

Just wanted to let you know, the reason a lot of CART cars made the switch to IRL is because IRL offered them A lot of oppurtunities. For example a free chassis. I mean I would've made the switch too, lol. But they're all great series. Anything thats not Nascar.

R.I.P ChampCar, its a damn shame, Champ car was just starting to get good, with wet races, the DPO1, standing starts and tracks such as Mont Tremblant, Zolder and Assen, and it gets killed off by IRL, with its ugly Dalarra chassis and monotonous oval tracks, it should have been the other way round, IRL should have been incorportaed into champ car! :(

so true. very well put. I loved CC. Unforunately there was no funding & the team owners never went out n got any name drivers. There was always a new roster every race. I have a feeling CC will be ressurected.

I think one of the problems was over competition for TV ratings. I remember some weekends when CC, IRL, ALMS, F1, etc. were on at the same time! And then other weekends there would be no racing at all.

I've watched Doornbos in F1 and in Champ Car, and I've heard his name pronounced DoornBOSCH (like the spark plug), DoornBOS (long O), and DoornBOSS. Which is it? That's the only drawback in international racing; as an American it is so easy for me to mispronounce names!
