The peachicks suffered no ill effects from my cracking open the end of the incubator long enough to take the 20-second video. They are now full grown, and healthy and thriving.
@RuralWriter How many hatched? We went through 4 batches and only two hatched from those 28 eggs. The two that hatched did so together (in the same batch).
I hope you didn't leave the incubator open for too long. I've hatched a lot of chicks and you have to be careful with that because the temperature can drop fairly quickly.
Ive been wanting to breed them for a while, I have a lot of room, an old chicken coop and its usual very peacefull and quiet when my neighbors don't feel like dirtbiking :[
Oh man this makes me feel a ton better. That is a hova-bator isn't it? I just got one to hatch my peafowl eggs and one person said they didn't think a hova-bator would hatch peafowl!
@telastaznboi Hi, I am a member of the UPA (United Peafowl Association) and if you use the UPA's breeder directory and klick on Texas it will show you all registered breeder listings in Texas. I know there are several big breeders in Texas, and there are over 100 varities of peafowl (peacocks) so good luck and I hope you get some peafowl.
Mine have grown up. :) They're simply the most gentle, serene and affectionate of all the birds I raise. Turkeys are the most agressive though....ugh.
omg so ccccuuuuttteeeeeeee

Do a web search for "peacocks for sale" or "Peacocks hatchery". Places like Murray McMurray Hatchery carry them.

Yes, it's our chick. I try to hatch some in the incubator every summer.

I hatch my own too. They are the most affectionate and gentle chicks I have ever raised. Love the video! :)

@ Praxxus55712: Really? Some of the turkeys I've known were jerks, but most of them were so sweet and loving. They were just like pet dogs.
