hi. thanks for the video. may i ask you a question about the wv-3230? i just bought one, and it arrived with its lens unit upside down. do you know how i can rotate it to the proper orientation? i tried the button on the side of the camera, the one in that dark padded rectangle, but it just won't budge past a certain point. do you know a good method for taking that lens unit off of there? thanks a lot.
It didn't play tapes at all, was bad belt in this case. But sometime it isn't could be other problems, like bad capacitors will cause all kinds of problem. But being you said you "after lubricating the gears I got it to move the tape, but it's very slow and wobbly", it could be tension arm not moving back and forth freely. But if Rewind and Fast-Forward is slow or take time to pickup speed, it's the belts.
Before you made the repair, when you played a tape in that camera, did the tape play really really slowly and wobbly? I have an RCA camcorder that's got that issue, and I suspect it's the belt, but I'm not sure... Before the tape wasn't moving at all, but after lubricating the gears I got it to move the tape, but it's very slow and wobbly.. Rewind and Fast-Forward works better though.
