Classic Saturday morning tv programming. They definitely set a trend with the half video/half cartoon setup. Carla was definitely a hottie. There was always speculation in my group of buddies as a kid that this show got cancelled because of the episode where they played Laid Back's song "White Horse" and the characters were floating through flipside on either a unicorn or white horse. I had heard that there was a backlash from concerned parents. Some of us couldnt even watch it after that.

Back in the day, this was cutting edge. To have show that involves live action, mixed with animation, as well as play music videos made it very popular, as MTV was starting to get popular This arrived when music videos were starting to get popular as well. Growing up, the only time I could watch music videos was on Kidd Video and "Night Flight", which was shown only on late at night on the weekend.

Carla, Whiz and Ash, were kidnapped by the evil Master Blaster and brought to their dimension, a place called The Flipside, where they were rescued by the Fairy Glitter and after that decided to fight the Master Blaster to free all in Flipside.

The series had flesh and blood singers who presented the show and then gave way to their cartoon counterparts, the whole purpose of the cartoon was to sell the songs that were done. GENIAL.
