I'm a producer, working with the electronic music genre, dubstep/house/trance, and some classic/soundtrack music aswell, If you have the time drop by my channel , or you can search on Max Prototype.
Hi everyone, I don´t know if this is the right place to make this question, but I have a problem with the volume , don´t know if are the monitors or te program indeed, because i have to put too high the volume of my macbook pro to hear in a propiate way the keyborads sounds........the master level is ok and the volume of each channel the same.
Thank´s and if someone knows how to configure this...i appreciate very much.
@johnnnas hey bud, idk if you figured out the issue by now, but are you using a limiter or a compressor to boost up the signal a bit? that can help, but maybe the problem is in your output stereo track, not the master track. hope this helps
Once upon a time the drummer was the click track and if the guitarist wasn't on time with the drummer he was a crappy guitarist. And if the drummer couldn't hold tempo at least close enough, he was a crappy drummer. :D And you couldn't expect be a paid recording artist if you were crappy at playing your instrument.
Maybe this video should be called 'good 1-min intro to flextime vs. 5 min of some dood mumbling about 'how it should have been set up' daw confusion documentary.
i had the same problem before... but what i realised is that there are hidden tracks within a single track, so what you can do is double click on the instrument (on the left hand side) and expand the tracks - then u can start editing
so flex time would make any music fit animation/videos then?
ive been playing about making some audio to go with some animations ive made on my itouch. had loads of fun using the f/x in logic. check my post -A thousand deaths! and see what you think. not too bad for first go i think....
recording is expensive, and the music industry is hurting badly. these things are designed to help get things done faster in the studio and save money
What about high latency and skips? someone told me the Nehalem doesn't have this problem.. maybe I don't know what I am talking about as I am new to sound creation.
Ok, let me be a bit more specific.. what I mean is I have a friend who does orchestral recordings and he told me that on a 2008 mac pro or lower, you could experience latency issues, where as on a nehalem mac pro you won't experience it as much.. Does this mean that anything less than a 2009 mac pro is not good for serious audio recording?
I've recorded 13 mics at the same time for drums and guitars with my Mac Pro with no issues. Of course, you will probably get better performance with new machines, but I have no issues.
i don't think you will have any issues regarding latency, as i own a 2.4 Ghz Macbook pro and I use multiple plugins such as Auto-tune and Melodyne, no latency problem.
One thing that can confuse you with latency in feedback is the "inserts" so make sure to either bypass or remove them if you notice any latency, it could be because of the settings (time delay in the effect used).
Nope. They recorded during an era where their labels invested into those bands creatively. They had uber amounts of money to use real analog hardware to create their craft. They were so talented that they didn't use take after take, just picked the BEST take. Here, with this software, we just pick the least crappy, most in time take. Have you ever head a real fairchild compared to its plug in? Night and day. Thanks.
@johnseoulkr thats why they were great bands though, because they couldn't, so they got really tight as musicians. which would have made live performances just as amazing. i doubt any current band could match the likes of the doors, who recorded each track on their debut album, (including songs around 7-11 minutes) all live, vocals and all. they only had 4 tracks to play with also. that restriction, im pretty sure, is why music is so bland and nothingy today. the studio does it all now
Off course they would use any software available. What I mean is: Most of the new generation of musicians today can't record without the help of the softwares available to amend the performance.
10 years ago you had to learn and perform the entire song. Now days you can just record few parts and then the engineer will copy an paste and thats it. Good for the studio time, but bad for the original recoding performance of the band?
Which only makes it POSSIBLE for thousands of musicians to actually be able to make music at all. If it´s easy to make the music, well... who cares? Then you´ll have more great music to listen to, it´s a win-win situation. It´ll save both time and money, it can take ages to make music... Thus, more people get the chance now, with improving technology. Bad musicians will be filtered out and earn nothing for their music anyway, even if they spent 1 or 2000 hours making a track.

I think that Logic in general is a cool piece of software, but after working few years with Cubase i have to say that editing audio in Logic is way worse
Agreed. Logic has a lot of catching up to do with Cubase in many ways. Logic 9 is a step closer, but still not good enough. Despite that, Logic 9 is extremely good and I rather use it than Cubase anyway though.
hey, i just wanted to say thank you. thank you so much--really thank you. Just think, before flex time, i could actually make the musicians do their job, play their parts in time and such. Now, thanks to flex time, I'll be doing that for them!
Really. I can't thank you enough. I mean, not only do have to spend an extra two hundred dollars to stay up current with the software, but now i'll have to put in countless man hours for no extra pay correcting lazy musicians!!!
I definitely find Logic easiest to set up a sidechain. It can be done fairly simply in reason as well, there are plenty of guide videos out there. The plus side of using reason is you can see the signal path and see how to do it properly rather than just pressing a few buttons and choosing an input source from a drop down menu.
Yeah Logic was behind on this. First Ableton had this, then Pro Tools came out with their elastic warping last year, and suddenly Logic has the breaking technology? And your right, Ableton's new time warping technology is pretty much the best your going to get. I can warp my songs much interesting than before.
...and Cubase got there in 2004 with Cubase SX3, this is such a basic audio feature - hilarious how people are getting excited about these features of Logic in each release without noticing that parallel software had it 5 years ago!
