maybe you'll be my neighbor one day. We can do some parking lot pimpin lol. Lets pump them homeless ho's an give them some homeless d*ck lol... Gotta wash my b*lls first. Unless they want some dirty d*ck...
According to your logic, wouldn't it actually be better to just be homeless than to even have a car? Even less resources will be wasted.
Just a thought.
:-P
As far as living in your car: have you had any issues with people bothering you? Like, people attempting to rob you? I'm a woman, so I'm a little concerned with people bothering me. Still, I'm thinking of living in my car--I'm just out of college and life is freaking expensive! I need to save some money.
@contemplativegirl21 yeah and more power to those heroes. "Give sleep a chance" is the mantra of the homeless in Boulder. I love it. I would never make someone feel guilty about having a huge house though. Whatever floats your boat. I'm just saying that it's hypocrytical to whine about resources and environmental issues and at the same time not allow people to do their part in having less of an impact. yes I had to pay a $40 fine for sleeping in my van on my college campus. No robberies yet.
@contemplativegirl21 some hispanic gangsters bothered me once and i packed a bowl for them and listened to them brag about all the bikes they'd been stealing and then they stole my pipe. they didn't bother me any more after that though even though i camped in the same place. Just play it cool and camp in a different place every night. You'd be bomber is you slept in a car where nobody could look in and see that there's someone there. i don't have that luxury. best to go outside the city limits.
You a very cool guy,,, I always dreamed of just living in my car travel around the world and play my saxophone with my studio tracks... Hey man have they ever told you , you look like Mike from NOFX a punk band?
@saxplayerale never heard that. i'll see. they always say tom hanks. thanks. i'm fired up about moving in to my van next week. i'm going to document that.
@kylepounds yeah man that would be fun. I wanted to take a trip on my bike that I just got from the academy. I bought a rack and I wanted to take my tent so I just sleep in it. But I guess my best bet would be a car trip because I could look the car and if it gets hot I'll just crank the AC.
@saxplayerale i never suffer from the heat bike touring. i just drink a lot of water and I sweat so much that the air comes and evaporates it and keeps me cool. i love super hot days.
@dmacamill99 subscribe to me i'm doing it right now. not tonight because i'm resting my knee at a hostel in vienna. but in a couple days i'll start doing it again and i upload videos of my camp sites whenever i can. i couldn't do it in austria because i was in steep valleys but i'm heading towards flatter areas where i can do that.
Yeah I had a 1971 VW Van and it literally never worked. I'd get a new engine in it and the engine would break burn up and I'd have to replace everything. In the end I wanted to burn it. I have a 1991 now and replaced the engine twice in one month. I put $13,000 into it last year and I barely even drove it. Now 2nd gear doesn't work and I have to put another $2,500 to get that fixed. The year before last I put a couple more grand in it. I love it though.
I've got an old Dodge Caravan that I ripped the seats out of and live in the back. I did this because of the same reasons you're talking about. I was tired of throwing my money to a slumlord every month!
Now I'm thinking of relocating somewhere and going to school for journalism somewhere. The only way I can afford this is by living out of my car. Won't let my dreams be smothered just cause I don't have money to begin with!
Great video. I've been saving money, wanting to retire early, and have been looking at ways to live comfortably, yet cheaply--RV, houseboat, etc. Along with the time it would give me, I also like the freedom and low ecological footprint. You did a great job putting into words what I've been thinking for over a year. I hope you do document your experience, so that others can learn from it.

things are backwards. what does it matter if you're not hurting hurting anybody? lol

@AhYaOk if you aren't hurting anybody you're not hurting yourself because other people are extensions of yourself in the grand sceme of things.

You make an interesting point. I had VW Vanagon once. That's when I discovered that Vanagons aren't really very reliable vehicles at all.

That sounds like a good car live out of. Especially if it doesn't have windows. Then noone would ever know you're in it.
