  • Awesome

  • LMFAO DID THIS TODAY AT LUNCH, SOME BIBLE THUMPER WAS READING HIS book on the stage in our cafe and i walked right up beside him and started reading the hunger games out loud.

  • Excelent !!

  • This video has totally inspired me. This is what I'm going to do if I come across one of those people.

  • new moon spoiled the video =/

  • when someone starts preaching in train I respond with cosmic jewish zombie

  • SO BRAVE~

  • Lol Its funny how its shot on the local 7 train yet there isnt a cluster fuck of Asians

  • I've started reading my book aloud on the subway. I only wish it was to silence a bible thumper and not some teeny-bopers with a radio. I sure do hope I get the chance though. Awesome video!

  • brilliant!

  • Nag Hamadi look it up.

  • That's awesome!

  • HAHAHAHAHHAHA

  • One songe came to me when I watched this video: "You say you want a revolution, well, you know..."

  • Sweet!

  • Excelente

  • This made my day :) if only we could all be this smart as to actually do this when they started preaching

  • Stumbleupon comes up trumps again

  • 0:58 did that guy just throw up or . . .

  • The actor that represented the bible thumper was really good. The face of sadness he made at the end made me sad for him.

  • @The247marcos indeed, a good actor.

  • Guys! Guys! Harry Potter is real! I read the books! He exists!

  • INDEED!

  • Yeah, sit your ass down with that GODdamn bible!

  • YES!!!

  • this is why audiobooks are superior.

  • @WaySide66

    That - and noise-cancelling earphones.

  • my mom has the scarf he is wearing.. haha fag

  • The scripture reader is a metaphor for obnoxious, finger-pointing religion. The other passengers are a metaphor for society which neither needs nor wants to have the fingers of fanatics wagged in it's face.

  • First of all the tone of that man reading the bible does not follow the content of what it teaches. Secondly, if it is just a book and one should just sit down then what book teaches that? Should they just sit down?

  • umm spit

  • omg i loved this. the book is the only evidence of jesus. just because a book days something does not mean it is true. give me more evidence and i might reconsider, actually no, no i wont. Give me facts.

  • Anyone who gets off by trashing someone else's faith and religion is, by definition, an intolerant creep. Well done; I'm also surrounded by creeps in this comment thread lol.. :)

    and p.s.

You realize that one in a hundred thousand Christians would actually do what that guy on the bus did; yet you imply that this represents a norm in Christians? It is a statistical irrelevance, and you either know this and are lying or you are...?

  • @itreeye you assume so much

  • @itreeye Choice of religion is as important as choosing a favorite color or football team. There is a video on youtube where a man in front of the white house, a Muslim, is doing his prayers, yet he is surrounded by a group of Christians who are harassing him and telling him he needs to accept Jesus. Religion needs to step up, whenever you make a claim that you have some type of special dispensation and that the rest of us need to believe or go to hell, you had better prove it, so far nothing.

  • @itreeye I cant see that this video implies this is the norm is for Christians. I saw it more as a way to give a self ordained street preacher a taste of his own medicine. No one enjoys hearing some random person screaming on a bus, street corner, park, etc.

Now, my religions name can't be spoken it's too holy to disgrace with words. We believe that all White, & brown people need to be extinguished. The meek red and yellow proper races need to finally inherit the Earth. Don't be intolerant.

  • @pumpstations

"I cant see that this video implies this is the norm is for Christians."

Fair enough., I guess I was responding more to comments I was reading where people seemed to be implying that.

Now, what's this about "meek red and yellow races"? There are only two races of human, the decent and the indecent. Racism is just foolish. Besides, Mao murdered 70,000,000 people and many Indians used to be mighty warriors., what's meek about that?? What are you talking about?

  • @itreeye I realize this, most others do not so I try to use their rules to be understood. Although I like your definition, descent and indecent.

As far as the red and yellow, I had first thought of the Eskimos but then thought of the Tibetan peoples. As far as the red I was just choosing someone other than black or white.

My point is this not all religions and faith should be tolerated. As you say they do. Then give me a jab because of Mao over my (cough) newly made religion, proving it

  • @pumpstations

you wrote: "My point is this not all religions and faith should be tolerated. As you say they do. "

No, you are right, of course. I didn't get that you were being sarcastic. In a way I was as well; in mocking the left which always insists that it is others and not them who are intolerant: and then they have an intolerant vid like this one. So my sarcasm was along lines of pointing out that inconsistency.

  • @itreeye ۞¨`*•.¸۩ஜ¸.•peace •.¸ஜ۩¸.•*´¨۞

  • @pumpstations haha nice one fag

  • @smokedmonsterl Thx.

    ̿̿̿ ̿' ̿'̵͇̿̿з=(•̪●)=ε/̵͇̿̿/'̿'̿ ̿

  • Its just a fictitious book. :)

  • The Bible isn't just a book... but I agree that you shouldn't just annoy people by reading it aloud. Show the Bible and it's lessons through your life rather than by persecuting people for what they are doing wrong. Let people have the choice to either life or death...

  • @Krew619 It is just a book. Having moral teachings in it does not make it better than being "just a book." (Especially considering how morally unacceptable many of its laws are today) There were books before it and countless books after it that have laid foundations for moral principles throughout the world. The Bible did not begin the process of teaching morality to civilization, nor did any other book. When it comes down to it, they are all "just books."

  • @Krew619

    Amen, my brother.

  • Is it bad that I find this HILARIOUS, and I'm a Christian? haha

  • I love this video it makes such a good point.

  • urrrgh... athiests...

  • @nezantra

    U mad, believer?

  • Lets do this in real life.

  • @disneylandx123 well, go ahead, i have and quite pissed the thumpers off; or just start reciting poetry if you know any, or make shit up stream of consciousness

  • project reasons new contest entries for '11 are online

  • The Bible, no better than Twilight.

  • I heard "I'm not good for you Bella." lol

  • This made my day.

  • This is gold xD

  • good point :)

  • love this :)

  • YOUTUBE LAG.

  • Comment removed

  • Great film! I might try this next time I come across someone trying to impose his view of the world on the rest of us!

  • Very clever

  • YOU AINT GOT NO PANCAKE MIX!!!!

  • @LogicalFaith same with the torah and quran, and a bunch of other religions and scripture have survived that long. your point?

oh and one third of the world's population is christian. the fuck do you mean 95%??

  • @amykomatic Yes believing in a all powerful being you talk to with your mind isn't at all crazy.

  • I love this video

  • I personnally love the Hobbit for this sort of work. Respond to threats of hellfire from God with threats of dragonfire from Smaug. Also quoting warnings about robbing dragons and waking sleeping dragons. Demand to be taken as seriously as your opponent quoting threats from their storybook.

  • *Gets up and joins in*

In this aride wilderness of steel and stone. I raise my voice that you may hear...

Any crosshead preacher might not like the book that's from

  • Hmm, Twilight or Bible...

...shit, tough call. I think I'd rather deal with Twilight fanatics. At least some goths are hot and dress slutty.

  • @Xunkun epic reply is epic

  • @Xunkun I love you.

  • this comment shouts out why the bible is a spiritual book and not a carnal one.

  • @randyvild "Song of Songs."

  • even twilight is better than the bible

  • YES!

  • lol good video. But you should have had the guy start yelling "SINNER'S YOU WILL ALL BURN IN HELL" or someting along that line. THEN it would of truly been a bible thumper. :-)

  • love your video, wicked!

  • Great video, but the bible thumper could have looked more the part, there are not many hard core evangelicals with long hair and dressed like that...

  • @ainefairygoddess not only that. They would of started yelling "SINNERS, BURN IN HELL" at everyone else.

  • @togruta4 Actually, I feel like this is one of the strongest points to this debate. Calm down!!! IT'S JUST A BOOK.

  • Sky daddy worship is simply a delusional practice or disorder. The prognosis for escaping this delusion is largely related to the level of conviction in the delusion and the openness the person has in allowing info that contradicts the delusion.

Add to that, the amount of brainwashing from childhood, cultural pressures, fear from damnation for questioning, being shunned by that culture, and you have a tough road of escape.

  • i loveee this

  • Haha.

  • Brilliant

  • wow.... thumb up for this great vid!!!

  • Can you add caption to this video? It would be great for the deaf community to see this video.

  • Ha ha, is this real? If it is, that's insane because it's the most fake-looking real thing EVER... especially since that one girls was reading TWILIGHT, lulz.

  • it just occured to me based on an email exchange with my friend with whom i shared the link: if only so many people read books on trains...

  • @amykomatic so what does that make missionaries

  • This is great. I'm from NY and I know how it is to be on the train and have to listen to some religious fanatic going off about their religion.

  • @amykomatic its still stupid that you would talk to ppl around you about it. ITS JUST A BOOK! with a bunch of stories written a long time ago that everyone made a big deal about and no one cares. and stobal is right who says hes christian? there not the only ones who read the bible.

  • This is way better than the other two winners. Come on! The first one was typography and the second video has bad quality bits. This should've won.

  • @drgutman

I agree. This is far better, should be the winner.

  • "I'm no good for you Bella! Don't be ridiculous!"

    HAHAHAHAHA!

  • I'm no good for you Bella! LMAO

  • @amykomatic The majority of people I've met (and I have met a goodly number of them) who preach in the open air are perfectly sane. They take what they see in the bible, and they do what it tells them to. It says to go out and preach the gospel, so they do. If I believed as they believed, I would do the same. How much would you have to hate the world not to try and save it from hell?

    That said, it is delusion.

  • @JorickHorn

How much would you have to hate the world to believe that your imaginary friend created hell, so that he'd have a place to torture most of the people in the world forever and ever, and still worship such a monster? How much would you have to hate your fellow human beings to believe that they DESERVE never-ending torture, because they don't believe the right myths?

  • @phantomreader42 I don't know how people can believe that and still worship, but given that as a start, you'd have to hate me not to try and convince me. People have a tendency to overlook what they don't want to think about. The obvious paradox you just brought up is an example. But when you have granted that a hell exists and that people are going to it, the only utilitarian moral thing to do is to try and save people from it.

I want to reiterate: I do not believe in hell. I am an atheist.

  • 0:57

    LOL!

    Say it, don't spray it!!!!

  • lmao so true it hurts.

  • For the preachy ones. Varble again this is for you.

  • Excellent! It would have been nice however to see someone stand up, light a cigarette and read aloud the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

    I like the 1st, 2nd, 4th & 10th best myself, but thats just me.

  • I quite like the fact that this is one of the few vids in the contest that does not specifically deal with the US. letting out references to one particular nation makes the vid more universal, I think. But maybe that's just because I'm european.

  • @FaganRoberts Do Americans often read the Constitution and Bill of Rights during a tram trip? 0.o

  • @UserNameForYeeTube Perhaps about as often as they read "The Catcher in the Rye." It's a hit or miss proposition on both counts. BTW: In the US it's called a train.

  • :D

    Thanks

  • he he he - great!

  • Nice. Should have had someone reading some Dawkins ;)

  • nice.

  • That girl with the glasses is a babe.

  • There's two girls with glasses -.-"

  • @DancingInChains Dude, I'm talking about the black one.

  • Ahhh , how refreshing !

  • This vid shows how much smarter the average citizen has advanced in the past 1000 years or so. The average person couldn't read and books were rare BUT monks could read, write and had books..they were smart and had answers. So PEOPLE LISTENED....but not anymore. Religion is an old tool to control the masses and the masses can read themselves and figure shit out for themselves. It's time to put religion in a chapter in our history books. but like anything there is always someone trying to hang on

  • @JosephW99 But we can bring it out on Christmas and still have a shit load of presents.

  • The truth is that most who talk about the Bible don't know the Bible. If they did they would be Atheists.

  • @ebaltrace or at least agnostic!

  • @ebaltrace and they would be in jail if they actually followed what it tells them to do.

  • @ebaltrace i agree... i grew up going to church and reading the bible, and had renounced it by the time i was 17 (old enough to think for myself)... but i don't consider myself an atheist at all. there's more to the world than religious nuts and atheists, yknow.

  • @ebaltrace :D Great point.

  • .........and we ALL lived happily ever after!;)

  • lovely vid love it

  • ......I am so bringing a copy of the princess bride on the bus from now on.

-5 points for twilight reading. I get the feeling books like that are how the bible started.

  • Right on

  • I love it!! What a great little video!

  • that hits the spot

  • brilliant =)

  • awesome!

  • I hope people start doing this. I think I'm gonna bring books on the bus with me just in case from now on. This is awesome!

  • NICE!

  • This is hilarious, I love it. Although I feel like if someone isn't reading from the bible but rather telling you specific quotes from the bible then maybe quoting some famous people's atheistic quotations would be a better route LOL.

  • LMAO!!!! Beautiful!!!

  • That was frickin' excellent! LOL.

  • nice...something very similar happened on the subway one time......but it was the captian blowing the horn.....lol...everytime i guy ent to speak.....over and over....it was as if he could hear the dude too....the guy just sat down...

  • @maddtappin God at work... God is telling the idiots that he doesn't exist! lol.

  • No one ever said that he was Christian. Anyone can read the bible. And anyone can ruin a train ride...

  • @Stobal32 then what is he then, i think its pretty odvious what this video is trying to depict, subliminal or not, whys he not reading out Cat in the Hat out loud whys he not reading the Koran out loud, spare me your connotations

  • He's a preacher. AKA, an ignorant nitwit.

  • @amykomatic Christians believe they have a personal relationship with a dead man and his imaginary father, whom they believe can affect their lives even though there has never been any evidence backing their claims as more likely than random chance. So yes, Christians are all crazy people, crazy people we're trying desperately to save from their delusions before they hurt themselves or others.

  • HahaHAHahaha, you don't know what the word "theory" means...

And there is far, far, far more evidence to suggest that the big bang happened than to suggest that Jesus ever existed.. Far more. Do some research before basing your life on heavily out-dated ideas. Just because you can't understand physics doesn't mean it's false.

  • @TheNeonKnight Im not gonna waste my time arguing with ignorant peopleon the internets thank you very much

  • How cliche of you to expose your own tremendous ignorance of science, and then call the educated person "ignorant," and claim that it is they who are guilty of spin.

Really, if you want to stand out, try saying something new. Even if what you say is still laughably misinformed ('just a theory" /facepalm), you would have at least garnered the respect of having some originality.

  • Comment removed

  • @TrenchantAtheist Face/Palm how juvenile and

you call me cliche lol, what did i spin please explain

everything is there in black and white, if you want to

discuss this any futher like a mature adult then by all

means im open to discussion, who said anything

about standing out, it odviously stood out for you

otherwise you would not have felt compelled to make a

    replie .

  • My comment was for your reference only.

In order to claim that something is "just a theory," you either have to be willfully ignorant, or you have to have the genetic quotient of a banana. I cannot learn anything from you because you have nothing to teach. You cannot learn anything from me because you lack the ability or the desire.

"He that will not reason is a bigot. He that cannot reason is a fool. He that dares not reason is a slave." I don't care which one you are; it is inconsequential.

  • You're the one who is being irrational by exclusively being open to only the concept of a god. There is no god. It's irrational to think so. Adults should be rational and sane and fair. Religion is not. Rationalizing is taking evidence and proving something. Something religion cannot, or will ever be able to do.

  • @TheNeonKnight wow. Jesus did exist. the debate is just whether or not he was the son of God.

  • @paniuroczy A lot of people think so, but very few people have actually researched the subject and looked at the actual evidence. you should look it up, you'll be surprised. It's scarce at best. The earliest actual record of Jesus' existence is dated to have been written almost 100 years after he died. There is no roman record of the crucifiction of Jesus. The romans kept records about everything. Not saying Jesus didn't exist, just that the evidence is scarce. More so than of the Big Bang.

  • @TheNeonKnight Huh. I didn't know that. that's interesting, but idk wasn't Jesus born in the middle east?

  • @paniuroczy supposedly he was, but he was also born during a census in a roman-controlled state, so (if you take into account the two conflicting versions of his birth) if a group of astronomers (kings, wise men, whatever) and shepherds and angels, etc. were to show up during said birth, don't you think someone somewhere would've written it down?

  • @eidolontyr it's easier to me believe that that someone just made up everything so you can read that the king, the star, shepherd, the census, and everything was in its right place, do you understand, all is but a lie

  • @Laparanoicafierita

    Even the cake?

  • @JerseyMcgee81 idiot!

  • That is not true at all ... in order to believe in fairy tales and live your life by them ... one has to be delusional. Also ... Christians will actually knock on peoples doors and ask them if they've read "the book" ... they will stand on street corners shouting this crap ... THEY DO stand up in public places like subways and buses and loudly read scripture. They show up at sporting events, protests (that aren't related to religion) with signs with religious passages on them.

  • OMG, I've felt like doing this so many times :)

  • why dont you guys just call this project Atheist

  • just a book huh, lol if only yall knew ..

  • stupid video unrealistic depiction of of someone whos a follower of christ, nothing but fodder for an atheist society with no morals and no social awarness .....

  • You don't need religion to have morals. I don't follow any religion, and I have plenty of morals. I know what's right and wrong. If you need to follow a religion to have morals, then you're obviously the one with moral issues. Everyone else can do it just fine.

Also, the Ku Klux Klan were a christian organisation. Are these the "morals" you're referring to?

  • @TheNeonKnight Odviously there are those who can twist things anyway way they want ie. you
