  • Wow !!! It's nice to hear somebody

From the group. Yall has the sweetest voices.

    Thanks Jimmy

    Sweetest voices. Thanks Jimmy

  • beautiful version itunes hear i come i hope!

  • Wicked Version

  • Mary Cowley, I cannot express in words how thrilled I am to find that someone who sang this version is here with us.

  • I'm one of the Shannons and just discovered your postings of our recordings. What spectacular memories they bring! It was heaven to sing in harmony with my best friends. Thanks for the memories...

  • @marycowley Thanks so much for your comments! It's amazing to hear from a member of one of my favorite girl groups, one that is especially hard to find information about. Thank you!

  • Produced by Mel Taylor....the guy with the Ventures?

  • @garymichaelshannon Yes, the same guy. The Shannons had a Ventures connection.

  • Aww man... Too good. thanks for this post!

  • This is a great cover version of the original by the Poni-Tails. It's hard to believe that this version is from 1968.. ten years after the original was released. I've never heard the flip side "Don't Ask Me". If you have the flip side, can you please share it? Thanks.

    John

  • Glad you like this version! "Don't Ask Me"? The flip side that I have is "Mister Sunshine Man" and I have it posted along with the one other single release by the Shannons.

  • Thanks for clearing that up for me. The two reference books I had indicated that Don't Ask ME was the flip side. I do like Born Too Late much batter than Mr. Sunshine.

  • You're welcome, glad I could be of help!

  • Like a lost Murmaids cover!! :-)

  • I like the comparison, the Murmaids had a beautiful soft sound too.

  • Cute cute cute!!

  • Glad that you like it!

  • GREAT VERSION - I especially love the instrumental background music fluttering with the intricate harmonies!

  • Oh yes, I love that too! Sounds like a harpischord. The only thing is that this version is so short, it seems to fade out before the ending but that's how it was recorded. So beautiful though. I think the Shannons were produced by one of the Ventures. There is some Venture involvement in there somewhere.
