  • Love this, Berkley here I come!

  • This live version compares nicely to the #1 classic that topped the charts in March'72. Don't get me wrong, but the original still has more of an impact on me heart & soul. This version is missing that extra kick that was soundly there in the original. At the time this hit was riding the charts I undertook a mental breakdown & severe depression, but weeks before this happened I put this single in my record collection cause I really needed that Heart of Gold..it was serious. Thx4 postin'

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ I agree. The original is better in many respects.///

Neil has a unique way of taking some harsh edges and smoothing them out a bit.///

His music isn't a panacea for all ills but thank God for the gift of Neil Young!

  • Glad ya like it! ~cg

  • I believe that this is from September 25, 1984, the Austin City Limits TV Show, with The International Harvesters who toured with Neil in '84 doing Country & Western arrangements of his songs. Good stuff, I feel.

  • Thanks again for a trip down memory lane. Keep 'em coming!

I think Neil would like the bridge portion especially.
