Sounds like a simple song, the riff, the counterpunctive (or is it?) bass, pause, chorus, but Holy shit is this a hard tune to lick and keep the feeling! A lot of the Stones' stuff is brain-meltingly deceptively hard to play. Charlie's shit alone makes me look at a drum kit like it's the hydron fucking collider!
Watch as Mick tells Bill, "Hey they're filming, live'in it up will ya?" Bill doesn't seem to care or catch on. Out of frustration, Mick gives a mocking face, with bug eyes right at 4:17
this is ok, but it pales next to the finished version. To me, Start Me Up is a distillation of the elements of the classic Stones sound. It always seemed to me like them giving the people exactly what they want. I never get tired of hearing it. I think this demo is too poppy, too bouncy...it's not choppy, and stuttered like the finsihed track....just my opinion
It's interesting and nice to hear that even the Rolling Stones don't just right a hit right out of the gate. Just like everything else, they start with something and keep refining it until they get the song they like. I prefer "Start Me Up", to this version.
Love this version. Its way more gritty. What I expect from the stones. By the way, who`s little boy is running around in this. Any of the band members?
umm,did anyone catch that at end, known keith 3quarters of his life and wouldnt drink gatorade after him, kinda dont blame him,ha maybe just dont drink out of bottles ,ya right
LOVE THIS VERSION BETTER THEN START ME UP I KNOW IT IS THE SAME SONG BUT WE KNOW WHO THEY ARE THE GREATEST BAND INTHE WORLD NO DOUBTS MICK KEITH RON BRIAN MICK TAYLOR BILL CHARLIE AND AS FAR AS IT GOE'S DARRYL JONES

Gotta love ol' Bill, just not the same since he left. Cool to see Mac (Ian McLagan) with the boys too.
