i live in perth australia , i was born in bradford but the place i miss most is liverpooland anfield of course , the people there are real ....... Y.N.W.A
I'll never forget that day, just came out of celtic park after watching rangers in a semi-final, word was on the radio about the disaster, we went back for the replay on the following wednesday and the minute's silence is etched in my memory for ever................ Forever in our thoughts
Liverpool is one of the greatest cities in the world, and it's people are amongst the most decent. I have known many over the years. I am from London but presently live in America, and I want to pay tribute to the 96 people who sadly perished that day, and to everyone else who was affected. London and Liverpool have a lot in common.
p.s Kelvin Mackenzie should hang. I am glad The Sun newspaper doesn't sell in Liverpool.
Just to clear things up: Gerry and the Pacemakers, Holly Johnson, Paul McCartney, The Christians and stock aitkin and waterman.Recorded in April 1989 for the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.
This is the closest to the version on Frankie goes to Hollywood its about the fifth song after Relax, Power of Love, Two Tribes, Welcome to the Pleasuredome, then this song by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, featuring Holly Whoo hoo, please up load the one from this album it is so powerful compared to Gerry and the Pacemakers, I love both versions but Frankie and Holly kick ahem.... :D xx
Can't believe that it is now almost 20 years since that terrible tragedy, when 96 innocent Liverpool fans died needlessly. It seems like only yesterday.
Still, a very fitting tribute, as was of course the fact that Liverpool won the FA Cup at the end of that 88-89 season.
May the 96 RIP
Same for those who perished at Bradford, Heysel and Munich.
This is a very good cover version. I heard it more than 20 years ago on London's Capital Radio and was very surprised to find it's on the back of "Relax"!
Thanks for sharing!

(Still looking for The Christians version too, if anyone out there has it!)
Great version of this song, and I like Holly's voice. He has a very distinctive voice.
