Obviously it must be very difficult for these women to give up the baby after, but they don't allow the women to do this if they are a first-time mother. If I were in their situation, I would probably become a surrogate as well. You are helping a couple who can't have a baby on their own, and you're well-paid for it! Win-win. These women aren't being forced to do this.

So torn on this issue. At times I feel it is exploitation to these poorer women, but then I feel it is a chance for them to better their own lives while helping another woman out. But, having six children of my own...I know how much you bond during pregnancy to your unborn child. I can't imagine trying to keep those emotions at bay and not getting attached whether it's your biological baby or not. It's a tough issue no matter how you look at it.

It is exploitation at its best. Yes they need the money but the emotional scars these women carry money can not fix.

Fuck the assholes that call anything good that happens to poor people exploitative. These people need money, and to get it in good moral standings they must earn it. The people that run around saying "exploitation" should be building coalitions to get rid if these financial terrorists on wall street and within the world banking system, exploiting every transaction with tools ranging from high frequency trading machines to counterfeiting to naked short selling.

There are so many moral concerns that come to mind when considering outsourcing surrogacy. I pray more people would instead adopt children already here and in need of loving families rather than create a market out of surrogacy and risk psychological harm to young, poor women willing to sell the use of their bodies in this way. Why must genes matter so much? Parenting can, and in my mind should, go far beyond that.

@batgirl9289 Correction to you: I have no children, and I was raised by family members because my mother didn't want me. So I'm sorry we disagree, but I'm looking at it from the perspective of an unwanted child who was given a better life thanks to people who took me in, even at great expense and inconvenience. They had already raised their own kids, but they saw fit to raise me too, bless their hearts.
