You put a cat in a cage and he freaks out, then do nothing to calm him down, and you base you decision on that. Some poeple put dogs in cages too and then wonder why they have problems.

You were brave to post this. People have unrealistic expectations of animals. We expect them to be miracle workers and be perfect. How can all of them meet our expectations? No living creature can. With alternatives, we don't have to see our friends killed because they don't fit the bill as pets. They can't due to fear. I agree-they should not have to die. The system lacks alternatives and so the system has to change. If we work at that, things can change.

Some animals will never be able to deal with captivity or humans. They do not accept being domesticated. I respect that in animals but they make bad adoptions. This is the reason we need sanctuaries and TNR, if nothing else. You were honest and in view of a future of unsuccessful adoptions and returns, possibly by injured families with children, you told the truth. Some feral and wild animals cant cope with their terror of humans. This is why we need humane alternatives to euthanizing them.
