Within this time which takes millions of years of erosion, I'm sure we could figure out an efficient way to create a magnetic field if we do decide we need one.
Hopefully by the time we become advanced enough to explore extra solar worlds, we would also be intelligent enough to protect our own planet's ecosystems. Sure there are a lot of people who know how to do that, but there are also many who just want the money.

YES big fan of Ghibli. James Cameron is a fan of animation, anime, adult animation and European animated movies including Sci-fi/fantasy movies/novels. Cameron is a Ghibli fan and borrowed from Castle in The Sky with the same floating islands, the unobtainum being like the floating rocks and even robots are similar.

@RapLibrary Pandora is a large moon orbiting a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri system that's large enough to retain an atmosphere. It has less gravity than Earth but a denser atmosphere with a greater % of CO2 (which is why characters in the movie seemed to fall kind of slowly). But I guess you could relate it to Gliese 581 because of the possibly habitable planet discovered there recently. I sure hope it is actually there!

For all of you saying pandora is beautiful and earth is not, I feel sorry for you. You guys must live in the city or burbs and haven't gotten out much. I live in the rockies in BC canada and it's amazingly beautiful. I work outside and it's not uncommon for a deer or a bear to be strolling through my work area. My backyard is literally a lake surrounded by mountains filled with wildlife. Get off your ass and explore this beautiful planet

Pandora was created as an "example" its unspoiled fantasy natural world was intended to represent symbolicly a world in balance when humans came there they saw the worlds value in only its resources we need only sit back and watch to understand with brutal honesty how our actions effect the lives of others.of course not all humans act in this mannor but it only takes a few groups of bad apples to spoil the whole crop. there is much beauty here if people just open there eyes .

No, unfortunately Pandora is not real. It's location is real. Alpha Centauri is a factual binary star system. Alpha Centauri is a candidate for terrestrial planets not gaseous.Yes Earth is beautiful but what I would give to live on "Pandora" just as the way it is and I would enter completely natural so I wouldn't contribute to pollution. It doesn't hurt to dream right? Only thing about Earth is it's not as bio-luminescent. I can sit and do my Astronomy work listening to this soundtrack for hours

YES big fan of Ghibli. James Cameron is a fan of animation, anime, adult animation and European animated movies including Sci-fi/fantasy movies/novels. Cameron is a Ghibli fan and borrowed from Castle in The Sky with the same floating islands, the unobtainum being like the floating rocks and even robots are similar.

@RapLibrary Pandora is a large moon orbiting a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri system that's large enough to retain an atmosphere. It has less gravity than Earth but a denser atmosphere with a greater % of CO2 (which is why characters in the movie seemed to fall kind of slowly). But I guess you could relate it to Gliese 581 because of the possibly habitable planet discovered there recently. I sure hope it is actually there!

For all of you saying pandora is beautiful and earth is not, I feel sorry for you. You guys must live in the city or burbs and haven't gotten out much. I live in the rockies in BC canada and it's amazingly beautiful. I work outside and it's not uncommon for a deer or a bear to be strolling through my work area. My backyard is literally a lake surrounded by mountains filled with wildlife. Get off your ass and explore this beautiful planet

i agree,..i live in the philippines, and my house is located atop on the mountain, hardly i day passed when i don''t get to see overlooking cityscapes,complete with suburban foregrounds and enshrouded with greenies, the far across mountain ranges at my backyard gave us a refreshing gale every late afternoon, and at the front yard, i always get a free access on dramtaic heavenly body entourage, were the sun at its setting stage would emit beauty,..earth is indeed beautiful!
