How good a song is this?You strip away all that lush studio arrangement (which itself is utterly brilliant)- you give Jim and his mate two acoustics and what have you got? A masterpiece. I adore Caroline's simple percussion on this and the harmonies.There are few groups that can do this and still render the final outcome equally brilliant. But without that quality of song you couldnt do it. I bow my head in admiration to them. But where's the stop-start bass coming from? They must be off camera

@jezkn If you looked to Caro's righthand side, you would find the elongated form of Keith Duffy on acoustic bass (their longtime bass player/Jim's chief drinking mate/Caro's sparring partner).

Do agree with your comments re their music & how so much of it shone once all the "production" was stripped away. There WAS so much more to this outfit than just the undoubted glamour of the three sisters. Good material, instrumental proficiency, exquisite vocal harmony.

@mostcommonwombat Of course-how stupid of me-do u know i'd looked a few times but cos of changing camera angles didnt pick him up-in the blue shirt. Lovely throbby acoustic bass sound and well up in mix (needs to be on this)-fabulous! Thnks so much for name and other details-it brings it alive. Just can't get enough of them. Who does writing and how do they come up with final arrangement and instrumentation (like stupendous plugged-in version of this song)? I wld Luv to know how they worked.
