You seem to misunderstand the difference between "miracolous powerup" or "illogical/asspull powerup".
That is not the same. The powerups Naruto got, are a) from training or b) from kyuubi. And the powerups Luffy got are ALL from training.
But the powerups NATSU got, are just illogical bullshit, you can't even argue there, that's FACT. The whole manga community agrees about that, join OneManga.com and you will see.
