  • Absolutely EXQUISITE! Finding this singer and group is a revelation to one who enjoys real SINGERS...

  • WOW!!

  • So beautiful,So real,So touching...

    R.i.p john!

  • This is so beautiful... thank you!

  • Heb vorige week pas zijn muziek ontdekt en was meteen verkocht! Tragisch dat zo'n ras artiest er niet meer is, zijn liedjes zijn vitamienen voor het hart, he will be sadly missed !

  • sadly missed. heard kieran halpin sing this last week and just reminded me again. but that's good.

  • John Wright you are simply the Best!!

  • So nice to have my own private John Wright concert thanks to the wonders of modern technology his memory lives on.

  • What a wonderful voice and performer..and a great little video:)

  • Well now you're just being silly...

  • Umm Scottish is one of the tags? Kieran Halpin is an Irishman...

  • correct and he has lived near Hawick, Scotland for the past 14 years and John Wright who was born in England owese much of his success to the recognition, support and encouragement he received while also living near Hawick. Seems a reasonable enough tag to me given these facts

  • Right, fair point. However it doesn't change the fact that he is an Irish folk singer and from knowing him personally I don't think he would be very amused at the fact his song is being tagged as Scottish folk. He lived in Ireland a lot longer than Scotland and his songwriting is largely influenced by being Irish. I think you should at least add Irish to the tags.

  • Well I also have John Wright singing 'Naked to the Eye' and in the interest of consistency I expect you want it tagged with 'American country' just because the songwriter happens to be Mary Chapin Carpenter. One of the guitarists on this track is from Liverpool, maybe I should have Birkenhead in my tags! Where does it end....

  • @kdylass for godsake shut up n just enjoy eh??

  • Nobody could do this song as well as John.

    God Bless We'll miss you.

  • Everybody has a right to his own opinion ofcourse.

So my opinion is that the version of Ilse de Lange (Live!) is the best I ever heared and will hear.

  • Kieran Halpin himself now sings a version very similar to this one, a song covered by John Wright is a sure mark of quality. Thank you so much John, what a star you were, what a star you are. Perfection.

  • a beautiful voice and a welcome addition to the heavenly choir Fare thee well

  • Your music will keep giving, John. Thankyou.

  • I hope you will have al the answers now, John!

    God bless you!

  • What a sad loss to this tough world.....bless you John, you gave much love.

  • I prefer the version from Ilse DeLange (Dutch singer-songwriter)

  • I love Kieran Halpin, and I love this song. And I really like the version of the song by the John Wright Band. It's very different from Kieran's performing, but as lovely as the original one.

Thanks a lot for sharing :)

  • Thanks Nap, Lovely song from a lovely band.

  • Thanks Kate, you are always first there to comment
