Maybe you must try changing the tones of the piano 8 tones lower, you musn't be comfortable in this tone, your voice tone is lower. But you don't sound as bad as you say^^. Only try with the piano to do this, because the music is better for a soprano that for your voice tone. Try to find the level that ''fit'' your voice and you are going to sound great because you don't have a bad voice ;).
That's actually where you're wrong. I'm a high soprano with a huge range and years of voice training. In fact, my teacher would be scandalized by my singing such pop-y music; she only wanted me to sing operettas. The problem was nerves and being out of practice (it's been a few years since I last had training). I freaked out and couldn't control my diaphragm, and since the song is right on my break, my control went completely out the window altogether.
but in some parts your voice are in a low tone that the song this is why I told you coz I though that you wasn't able to do them comfortably.
Sorry I didn't try to disturb. I sing too in a universitary chorus and in a gospel, and I'm studying Music at university too^^'U then the problem I heard was this, but if you say that you're able to done it, then perfect.
And I don't understand why is your teacher going to be scandalized. You can sing what you want wherever you want.
When you have limitations about the songs teachers let you sing it starts to not being funny and you can finally dislike it. That's what happen to me with my piano lessons , I was some years playing it but the teacher only let me play the things she wanted. And what I wanted was to play CCS songs xDD then I gave up the classes and have not play the piano in years, I tried last day in order to play it in an universitary event...but I failed ^^'U I will continue singing... Well practise and enjoy!
do you know where she got the instrumental???
