  • These sugestions are very troubling. Please don't do this to your washer. That water level switch is very complicated. It reads a lot more than just the water level, also the blue part she pulled out is designed to regulate water flow not the amount of water. Without it ,it could flood her house.

  • @cpack100 it will not flood her house. its a electronic switch. the part that was removed restricted the amount of water going into the washing machine. so instead of just a piddly stream taking 5 minutes to fill it will fill in half the time. the switch for the water inlet will still open and close normally.

  • The screw on the LG was a phillips screw and turned very easily. For anyone with a WM2701HV, it is located at the back of the washer [looking at it from the front] and on the left all the way in the back. It's hard to see because of the brace that goes down the side of the machine. Mine says WATER PLUS and is a button all the way at the bottom. I pressed it EVERY TIME and it put in less water than what I have on normal now. It seems to add about 2" of water.I can say I LIKE the washer [1st time]

  • I DID have to PRY the top off. There are 4 plastic pieces that hold it on in 4 places. So I actually took a screwdriver and pried and POP...it opened. I turned it and the water is now like yours...filling to about 1/4 on the glass in "normal" and pressing the "extra water" button now lets it fill to almost the halfway mark. It was nice to see DIRTY water for a change. And with more water, it seems to go into spin easier...not having to try 5 or 6 times! So THANKS. The internet is wonderful!!!!!

  • @dant2590 Oh MAN!! I am SO THRILLED for you!! Many of us are thrilled now with our once despised washers!! I'm so glad that you joined the club!! How did you find turning the screw to be?? No problem??

  • @ywmpg I don't think that I have the 'extra water' button. Extra RINSE, yes---but no 'extra water.'

  • I actually have a LG machine, but I'm told the Samsung and LG are the same machines. I haven't been able to get the top off! Anyone have any suggestions? I took the 4 screws off, but wasn't able to pull it off. Did you pry it off with a screwdriver?? Just give me some help and I'll see if I can get some water in my LG!

  • @dant2590 Wow!! If I remember correctly, I think it just lifted off!! I'd try to pry it up Dant.

You MIGHT have an extra screw or two (since it doesn't actually SAY that it's a Samsung.) Maybe that's the diff. between the two!! hehe.... Maybe use a mirror to view the back of the top to see?? You NEED more WATER!! You'll LOVE your machine afterwards!! Just be REAL CAREFUL with the screw--it's a soft pot metal. Really watch the end of my video--it will really help!! Keep me updated!

  • No problem with mine washing with to little water as you say...

Thats because it washes in the back of the drum.

The drum is tilted backwarrds to that effect, and to add extra garments if needed.

  • I did this with my WF220ANW the other day. I'm not getting the same amount of water, but it's definitely much more than I did before. I can now see it, but nowhere near half way on the glass. Thanks a billion for this. I'm going to Tonystone's video and replying too.

  • @drdoct Hi Dr. Doct!! Mine doesn't even go a quarter of the way up, but it has a LOT more water!! I've learned from the European's who've commented here (they've had front loaders FOREVER!) that the more water you have--the more of a GENTLE cycle it is. So, I'm happy with just little more water--it really still has the 'slap on the rocks' cleaning effect going. NOW it cleans good. I'm so glad it worked out good for you too!!

  • We just got the model up the 220 and were wondering how it can clean because there's no water. Going to try this in a few minutes to see if I can get it to add more water. I actually work for a living and the uniform service does the heavy lifting, but my under shirts are nasty too. Thanks a billion for this.

  • Elbow ouch at 7:59...

  • That is too much water. it should come up to the rubber seal , thats now a gentle cycle.

  • @henene4

Yeah....Although I love it with all of this water, when it had all the water in, I tried to add another item, and it DID unlock, BUT, I would have had a tidal wave come out, should I have opened it!!

I still like it better though buddy!! Even if it's a gentle cycle!! We in the U.S. haven't had these front loaders for as long as Europe has....you guys are the professionals with these!! Thanks for commenting!!

  • @ywmpg

You made my day :-) I had so much fun watching your video. I owned front loading machines myself always (25 years now) and even when I still lived with my parents we had one. It's normal that they use little water (for us in Europe) and when used properly they do clean well ;)

Glad however you were able to change the water intake so that it better suits you!

  • @podenco2 Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I'm SO glad you liked my video--that was a raw 'reality' show with me there, eh?? Would you consider it a 'gentle' cycle now, as another said it was??

  • Iam going to make a video today and post it ill send you the link!

we gotta get these videos out there so people can enjoy clean clothes to!

  • I just got to comment again!! I LOVE MY WASHER NOW!!!!!!!

  • @platinumreflex

How FUNNY!! Honestly--I was thinking about YOU this morning!!

I did a huge load of clothes and was again THRILLED with my washer!!

I thought about YOU being thrilled now, TOO!!

  • I just got to comment again!! I LOVE MY WASHER NOW!!!!!!!

  • I just bought a Samsung front loader last month. It leaked from the first time I used it, which is amazing, since I can't see evidence of water in the washer. Lowe's is replacing it tomorrow morning. I called Samsung, and they acted like I was crazy. They said 12 and 1/2 gallons of water goes through 1 wash. What a crock! I ran it though without clothes in it. I could see only about 4 cups of water total. If I use smelly detergent, it doesn't even come out of the clothes!

  • @PixieTheRabbit

Boy, I'm so sorry to hear that you're having so much FUN with YOUR Samsung!

  • LOL water is great and yes it is needed to clean cloths thanks again tony stone my toddles cloths are clean again!!!

  • @platinumreflex I'm SO GLAD that this adjustment worked out great for you TOO!!

Now our clothes are CLEAN!! Yay!!

  • lol. Happy adjusting. hehe... I wish these damn manufacturers would make it easy and let the consumer have some influence on these decisions like this. I can see in some areas where there is limited water it could be a good thing to use 14 gallons per cycle. BUT I have tons of water an will never run out. I have to say... I am impressed at how good my machine cleans even dirty shop rags with a larger amount of water. Water is great. lol... stupid fu*ki*g al gore!!!!

  • @TonyStone31 You 'da man Tony!!

    I LOVE my washer now!!

  • hahaha..I love your husbands comments. "Probably designed by Al Gore". lol....
