The Hutton whitewash in 2003 decapitated the BBC for not being rabidly pro-war enough. Since then it has been dubbed Blair Broadcasting Corporation. The BBC promotes the pro-Western sides in elections in states that are not Western allies. So, there was saturation coverage of Moussavi demonstrations on the BBC and no coverage of the equally large pro-Ahmadinejad demos and rallies. And total silence about rigged Egyptian "elections" and the Gulf dictatorships.

BBC = bullshit. The BBC has always been the mouthpiece of British imperial interests. When the word comes down from the intelligence services, the BBC journalists toe the line. It is staffed disproportionately by the privately educated old by network. The BBC refuses to co-operate with the Sutton Trust survey into the percentage of privately educated people who are leading journalists. The survey revealed that 50% of them were privately educated--yet only 7% of children attend private schools.

Divide and rule is the name of the game your are describing. Western policy in the Middle East has always been based on provoking enmity between the two most populous nations in the Gulf: Iran and Iraq.

Yes it's an old British tactic so that they can sit back & watch their enemies kill eachother.

But it backfired this time because it multiplied Iran's power by destroying the only other major power in the area & handing Iraq to Iran.

I'm guessing this was pre-planned too. About 2 years ago when the threat to attack Iran was allover the news I was telling everyone that US won't attack Iran because Bush is a Nazi & Iranians are mostly Aryans so it made sense. Bush indirectly helped Iran bigtime.
