  • Dat Chorus effect on the guitars. Best version

  • The version they performed during Eurockennes 2005, with the improv intro, is the very very best!

    Close second :)

  • @weasel4915 Milano '07 was the best.

  • This Moz inspired version is the best! A merciless fantasy come true!

  • This version always make me smile and tap my foot. People ask me,

"What the hell are you smiling about?", when I have my headphones in and they can't hear what I'm hearing.

    "Interpol," I answer.

    "Who?" they ask.

I then shake my head and smile along.

  • @B0neyKingofN0where :) is all I say, cause I do the same.

  • interpol definitely started out more towards punk on the genre scale

  • II love you Vianney <3

  • I love this version, except I personally HATE the vocals during the chorus, it's annoying. The verse sounds great though, I love the vocal style here, it sounds almost pathetic. On the album, I think PDA is the only song where he sounds like Ian Curtis, and I think this version sounds more emotional.

  • @dradfromthebu You have a point with the vocals during the chorus. They do sound pretty odd. :/

  • the outro is definately better than the original

  • what's fukd I.D.?

  • @andyrawsyou Fukd I.D. #3 is Interpol's first EP.

  • WOW! This version is so different! Paul's voice is so different, it's crazy. You can really tell how far they've come. I have to say, inner fangirl coming out, when Paul sing's "sleep tight, grim right" I think its adorable! I can't fight the awe that escapes from my mouth, LOL.

  • @theinterpolbaby grim rite, actually..but ur right, its awesome...nice name too btw,haha

  • This. Is. Amazing. thank you soooooo much for putting this up...

  • @DrCommenter this is actually one of the first recorded interpol songs! pretty cool!

  • Hey thanks so much for putting this up, love love love this version, I've never heard it! As an Interpol addict I love finding new versions of songs! :)

  • although I love TOTBL, I love how you can clearly hear Paul's voice here....he sounds like a college dude instead of some 30y.o man lol

  • This song is actually one of the first three Interpol songs ever written. Get The Girls being the first, Roland being the second, and this being third. Precipitate was the fourth and then Cutthroat. Cubed/Mascara was also written before TOTBL (I think), and is now being released as a instrumental bonus track on the Japan Edition of 'Interpol' called "Gavilan". It sucks that it's an instrumental though, because I thought that the lyrics were the best part of the song... ugh. :(

  • @DrCommenter How do you know so much?

  • @sdcchemist The Internet is a marvelous thing.

  • @DrCommenter not written, rather recorded.

  • @OSV2536 I was just guessing that they were also written pretty close to that time, since the band had only been formed for a couple of years. Then again with songs like 'Fly as you Might' (which was released under Paul's pseudonym) Paul had written them years before Interpol. So you probably have a point. Thanks! :)

  • @DrCommenter yeah, the lyrics were fucking awesome "when i was so drunk.." haha, love that

  • hmmm, dont really agree with the backing vocals on this one...ugh, reminds me a bit of korn neu metal shit....paul vocals are also meh on this one...

  • this version is the original

  • you are the only person who put a nasty curse on this merciless fantasy come true - genius. so glad i found this version :D

  • je t'adoré

  • Ive been looking for this for such a long time

  • THIS IS AMAZINGG. Thank you thank you, and thank you =DDD

  • Fukd I.D. #3 was the first release Interpol ever made, this version would be the original

  • I never saw you put these up. I'm so happy you did, I seemed to let myself get distracted from doing so. Thank you for doing this and helping to spread these songs, you're awesome. :]

  • Wow, thanks! :D

  • grandioso como amo a estos hombre todo lo que hacen es arte!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow.. absolutely incredible! THIS is Interpol, dark and intense.

  • this version maybe the best! thx

  • brilliant.

  • I love this version. I think it sounds darker and more post-punk than the album version.

  • Sleep Tiiiiight, Grim Riiiiiight, We have 200 hundred couches were you can Sleep Tiiight, Grim Riiiiiight......

I like this version' s chorus

  • very much agreed. it just sound so smooth. :)

  • actually it says "But you're so cute when you're frustrated, dear, Yeah, you're so cute when you're sedated, oh dear" in the original but it repeats frustrated in this older version.

  • I like this version..awsome :-)
