I shall agree with you. self defense is good anyway sure there are different techniques but they all are still effective at the same rate. it does depend on the master take for example in the Karate Kid the dude who was teaching in the cobra Kai place used self defense and morphed it into killing ppl teach
his students how to pretty much kill ppl but Mr. Myagie(I know spelt it wrong) was teaching Daniel real self defense through the eyes of Karate. Then at the end Daniel kicked cobra Kai's asses
Karate blocks and punches are useless. Go for muay thai, mixed with BJJ or shooto. =)
