I think the best part about the Minmatar is that, even if my ship looks like a scrapheap, it doesn't look like as much fo a scrapheap as your ship does after I've just blown it up - so long as you have the skills, as Minmatar tend to be very skill-intensive in comparison to the other empires, being as versatile as they are.

minmatar are more similar to the gauls and the germanic tribes, while the amarr are like a catholic version of the ancient roman empire. then you have the caldari, who are similar to the british, french, dutch, and spanish colonial empires, but are also similar to fascist italy. and finally, the Gallente, who resemble the USA, EU, and Brazil, due to their ways of liberalism and democracy. if anyone thinks that USA is evil, then go back to school and read some American history.

So you'll find aspects of vikings, of the golden horde, the mad scientists, aspects of russian tech. They are the lowtechs, the underdogs, those who fight the establishment, fight for freedom and justice. Many use the Minmatar for piracy. But that's not what they are. Warriornation. Tribals.

Yes, indeed. The infamous Rifter frigate with it's double-hull construction also reminds me back to the old-days pirates in Elite-Final Frontier for example. The Minmatar have extremly good small vessels like frigates (Rifter, Vigil) and cruisers (Rupture, Stabber). On the higher level it's more on par with the rest. But depends higly on tactics so hard to tell what's the best ship of a kind.

An other thing Minmatar reminds me of: Irish! Watch out for red-haired Sebiestor women.

crosstraining from caldari to gallente is prolly the easiest switch. alot of shared skills (gunnery/hybrids). Only thing u prolly need to start from scratch is Mechanic (armor tanking skills).

Minmatar have to be the most fun you can have in a spaceship & they are quite good ships for PVP'ing in more often than not.

It is like the intro said though we are out to regain the glory tha was once ours, when we do finally regain it I can only imagine the wealth/technology that could be released!

Don't be forgetting the Maelstrom now. The giant fins, combined with the sheer firepower and tanking ability, not to mention the ability to SOLO L4 "Enemies Abound: Part 5" with relative ease easily make it one of my favourite ships in the game. It's right up there with the Amarr Apocalypse on my scale. =) The Hurricane and Cyclone each have their own beauty to them as well. =)
