  • Nice one!

  • Its not that real life is so much better, its that "real life" is real, what you see is not always what you get because of lies but in real life, you are who you are, nothing more nothing less. you get more bullshit online becuase that person can be who they think they are or want to be. but you would never know the difference because of the distance that the internet puts between you and that person.

  • harrrrdddd

  • I'm watching this on my iphone....

  • Naught but a nod a wink & a smile...

  • @IanByte T-Mobile isn't the only carrier for Blackberry. Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon sell them too (along with most all of the prepaid carriers)

  • @IanByte wow you really got him

  • It is strange how in our world we associate ourselves with moving forward and keeping current with technology, when we need to stop and see what we're doing today.

  • That was powerful. SPIT

  • damnnnnn

  • I need to give this a 2nd look L8r ...

  • This is fantastic:)

  • THIS IS PHENOMENAL. SUPER CHILLS. I LOVE IT!

  • I face facebook more then books face me hoping the book face the faces... sick

  • @sGGingerbear *hoping to book face-to-faces

  • He's not using youtube as a tool. This was recorded from a poetry slam he competed in and posted from another person.

  • I really wish I could read this while he's saying it to remember it quicker and better. It's so GOOD.

  • This is for onl yb people who are online 24-7

  • Introducing the Fleshlight

  • haha brilliant

    on youtube though?

  • @NickHann0 The message I got from this performance was that there's a difference between using youtube/facebook/twitter as a tool and using it as a primary form of interaction.

In this case he's using youtube as a tool.

  • @yubbers123 yeah i agree, it was a friend of mine on my account anyways, it's a tad ironic but nether the lass gets the message across

  • Just compliments for this performance.. Who are we to judge the rest?

  • @kersalicious alive, aren't we?

  • Today's reality-'nuff said.

  • This reminds me of the second episode of "Black Mirror".

  • Is it not ironic that this video has been posted on youtube, and that he would probably be hardly recognised without use of the internet.

  • I love how he ends his rant with a link to his facebook page.

  • @azrael7493

The point was that we should remember to be human, not that facebook itself is bad.

  • @jangerhard2

I agree, however, he came off as if he was against reliance on technology in general and then proceeded to use it to further his message. Not to take anything away from his talent but it just makes me laugh is all.

  • @azrael7493

That's not what I got - From what I understood it was that people aren't expressing emotions with other humans anymore, everything is done online. But sure, you're entitled to your opinion

  • @azrael7493 There are other uses for Facebook than letting it suck your soul.

  • @azrael7493 It's not a rant, and the link isn't at odds with the point he's making. But the irony is still pretty funny.

  • Least offensive rap ever :|

  • your house is technology

  • the internet is simply put some peoples herion.

  • This video has been selected by the channel as one of the most 'Deep' videos on YouTube and was added to the channel's playlist accordingly. Thanks for sharing.

    Regards,

    bestofYTchannel

  • Impressive

  • @KEVINKACHEL This isn't an Apple promotion...

  • Beautifully said :D

  • @KEVINKACHEL ... you spelled Rhymes wrong.

  • He makes the internet seem bad. -.-

  • @OriginalDeathpill that's not really the problem. the internet is neither good nor bad by itself and he has every right to dislike it. on a superficial level, it annoys me that he's pretending to turn his moral failing to act on his convictions into a highly skilled poetry performance instead of, you know, acting on them. nevertheless, he has every right to keep annoying me just as i have the right to get annoyed at what he's doing.

  • @OriginalDeathpill but all that's beside the point because he _doesn't_ sincerely dislike the internet. all he's interested in is taking a currently popular anti-technological meme and trying to pass off its prepackaged emotions as a heartfelt performance. i know it's not genuine because everything he says is so cliched, i feel like i've heard them all explicitly or implicitly a thousand times already.

  • @OriginalDeathpill once you notice the almost depressing lack of novelty, you'll realize that every single fucking line bears the mark of bs spouted by a hive mind's automaton instead of the polished thought structure that accompanies personal conviction. the more you have critically inquired into a subject, the less it sounds like a one line summary of a gigantic tome compiled by someone else.

  • @OriginalDeathpill especially in poetry, where personal emotions are supposed to take precedence over what society or government or anybody else thinks. and the chances that a thousand lines of thought originating in the minds of a thousand individuals can independently coincide to this extent in form as well as substance is statistically negligible. what really gets to me is that he may not even realize how shallow his mentality is.

  • @OriginalDeathpill this is a serious problem with my generation. we are so inundated in preachy media, we actually have trouble separating the thoughts of others from our own. there are so many disembodied voices at the back of our skulls buzzing with catchy sound bites that we feel compelled to parrot their words, and even get offended when told they are not "real emotions", "just phases", etc. this used to be a thing with teenagers, but now adults are more or less the same!

  • @nactan yes, but maybe no.

how do you determine which emotions are more 'real' than others? i think the people who get offended when they are told they are not "real emotions" are probably more offended because being told their emotions are less real than others makes them feel less important.

teenagers are like this a lot, because they are emotionally insecure. as for disembodied voices... haven't they always been there?

  • @bearchildofdeath uh, like i said, he's merely taking the ideas of others and finding ways to _express_ them beautifully. you want me to believe that he believes this shit? if he did, he wouldn't be repeating shredded tail ends of arguments made by others. there is no authentic flight of the imagination here! now it's very possible that i am mistaken about this, but otherwise my point stands.

  • @bearchildofdeath so in the sense that all things are real: illusions are really illusions, hence the illusion is what you are "really seeing"; fallacious arguments are really fallacious arguments, and so they are "real arguments"; in that sense, all emotion (and scooby doo) is real!

  • @bearchildofdeath at the moment, i'm unconcerned with the source from which the germ of an idea entered your mind, but if you have NOT pursued it out of a sincere love of truth, understood it, loved it, made it your own and gone further along the road in your own unique style, if you have merely joined a fashionable bandwagon to get along with others, ...

  • @bearchildofdeath if your emotions are ultimately rooted NOT in your soul but that of another, then the stuff coming out of your mouth it IS objectively inauthentic and less important to me than it otherwise would have been. look, i'm not a parent. i don't give a fuck whether or not you conform to my idea of decency, i'm concerned about the exact opposite: authentic self-expression and artistic integrity, which i believe are being majorly compromised here.

    nice poem though. :)

  • @bearchildofdeath (that is to say, i'm likely to be on the side of people who have been accused of shallowness for sillier reasons (at times, i really hate this character limit thing))

  • @OriginalDeathpill (to clarify, i'm saying his role in this was coming up with exquisite wrappings to deliver up dreary generalities that "everyone is thinking", and he does a superb job at just that. not only are these neither unique nor authentic, but this little memeplex actually has the balls to pretend that it's socially unacceptable. (though it has that same frayed, second hand feel evinced by not even the most impressionistic poetry that's genuinely spontaneous))

  • (first time i actually disliked a video on youtube)

  • @nactan I lol'd,

  • BOO

  • My teacher showed us this in sociology today. This is crazzzzzy, I really like this.

  • I just got chills

  • Technology. You're doing it wrong. Nice rant, though.

  • It Touched me !

  • 25 people clicked the wrong button..ah who cares, let them dislike something that we all can agree with.

  • @ejim941099 One can't say that every piece of technology is advantageous, and likewise one can't say every piece of technology is disadvantageous -- there's no need to take either extreme side. Technology does indeed allow us to become greater than we ever were and will continue to do so, but technology can become addictive and when someone relies upon it, the poet's words become reality. That's what he's saying. I know because it has happened to me. I lived a secluded life, addicted. It sucked.

  • I just wanted to say that our English teacher played this in class to start of our poetry unit and our class thought it was amazing he even had to make alink to it on his page

  • Some one didn't get an iPhone for christmas.

  • @tab1990 Shut the hell up.

  • @Hawkknight88 I guess you didn't get either.

  • yes, and our choices are "tainted" nowadays by the fact that there is such advanced technology. but i would argue that it is not tainted, rather it is evolved. it's just something for us to struggle through, the newest thing, and the thinkers, the skeptics are going to have growing pains acclimating into life being different

  • my teacher showed me this I LOVED ITTT!! <3 :0
