Both has the same (Paradox Interactive) as a game maker. Amnesia may be little more scarier, but thats becouse you are in old castle with no electricity, only with torches and candles. The enviroment is more (umm.. i hope this is right word :D ) *bare* so thats why.. enemies and other things are mostly alike with amnesia (of course enemy looks different but anyway)

@icentfindaname Yes, the Penumbra series and Amnesia are both done by Frictional Games both are built on their own 3D game engine called "HPL" Which is why they look so similar.

The company is actually only a team of 5 or 6 people who work out of their homes! If they keep making games like this they are going to be huge. I can't wait until their next game!

HPL is short for H. P. Lovecraft, the horror writer BTW :)

Saw the new offer on steam and remembered i had only ever played Overture, only horror game ive ever played I enjoyed because it is the first thing i have ever seen (on a screen) that actually freaked me out. its not that theres no weapon in the game, its just that the guy starts with none, but they are scattered all over the place in the game... its made so you use your imagination. for example, a good chair is always trusty when you explore a new scary area. a wooden pole can easily make a good spear if you handle it well, perfect for against humanoids. ect. ect. and you name it. monsters can be stunned at will, just not killed
