Firstly, look at them, neither has any hint of design, or beauty, the Cadillac looks like it was designed by someone who only had a ruler. The Cadillac does not have 'supercar performance' in any way. What you’re saying is that you would have a CTS - V rather than an XFR despite the fact that the Jag is considerably better built, more spacious, more comfortable and better looking, it handles more fluently, it’s cheaper to buy, cheaper to run, it’s far less ostentatious and less vulgar than the CTS - V, and flat out – it's faster as well. There is no good reason to buy the Cadilac.

Most of the time though, when you just want to get home, the jaguar is comfortable and relaxing, the Cadillac isn't, it’s just hard and loud all the time. After a few months it would just become annoying, and the other thing is that the Cadillac is so outlandish and shiny and plastic it just looks hideous, yes the CTS - V is faster on a track but an XFR or an M5 or even a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG would be a better compromise between speed, interior quality, and normal road driving every day.

@DidItForebode I believe the "world's fastest production sedan" claim was based solely on the Nurburgring world-record run, which I understand it still holds. The Panamera was supposedly faster, but even they acknowledge the time was not "official". And the 225 mph XFR was NOT stock. Impressive of course, but the XFR you can buy off the showroom floor cannot go that fast. However, the CTS-V that ran the Ring was completely stock.
And why the hell would I care what time it set at the Nurburgring, it’s a 4 door. If I wanted a fast track car then I would buy an Ariel Atom, or a Radical, I would much rather be comfortable and dignified whilst driving around on the road than sitting in a ridiculous plastic box made by General Motors in an abandoned farm somewhere in Texas.

What you've said is that the CTS-V is faster round the nurburgring and that it's faster from 0-60. So the Cadillac is slightly faster, so what? its not like the Jaguar is slow. The point im making is this, when you want to drive quickly, both cars are good. But if that's all you want then buy a car that's genuinly fast, like a track car, or a 911 or something, not a foor door.

i think the real comparison is between a Lincoln MKS and a buick lacross. the CTS is amied at taking out the germans and to be more appelling to custermers around the world.
I'd rather take a road trip in my 56' Mercury station wagon, once I have it restored! Someday! Sitting in my mom's 62' Cadillac sure felt like a lounge chair in the front or back! :)
a better comparison would be an sts vs mks. you could even do a sts-v vs the new mks ecoboost. the Cadillac would be classier and faster but gm's are only good for two years. ford makes quality vehicles but has a lot of work to do to make lincoln a true luxury brand. the lincoln LS was awesome, they should have kept it and competed against the cts. lincoln and caddy's flag ships are now both going to be front/all-wheel drive crap. oh, well.

I tried a Caddy STS for two weeks and that too is a great car but the Lincoln is roomier, more comfortable and comes with about $15k worth of electronics and back seat passengers have plenty of room and really like the sun roof for the back seat.
The CTS is more sporty and has nowhere near the ride of the Lincoln, noisy ride.And the room in the back seats leaves something to be desired.
They should have compared the Lincoln to the STS instead of the CTS.

For the class and size of the vehical, I wouldnt compare the 2.. The lincoln is huge and more spacious inside then the smaller CTS...However, I do like both of the cars, they're both nicely designed and crafted cars

listen to the difference between the highway noise, Lincoln ftw. A luxury car that tries to be sporty isn't being honest with itself, you have sport or you have luxury and at that price range there isn't really room to cross those lines. The MKS is striving to be what it was always meant to be, a smooth American luxury car so I would choose it between the two.
After watching this..., I see that, the bald guy is Lincoln biased! He haven't really said anything good about the Linc. MKS and, barely anything wrong about, the Caddy CTS-V! This comparison doesn't make sense. The Caddy CTS that is NOT a V series model should have been the car to compare here. The V series cars is ALL about being a sporty luxury car which adds a whole new dimension to the characteristic of the car.
To say the Allante is like a luxury Corvette while riding is a CTS V is actually a pretty funny statement as I think the CTS-V is about the closest thing you can get to having a 4 door Corvette with the added luxury of a Caddy.

The MKS is so boring I saw one in a parking lot today. It looks like a copy-cat of every luxury vehicle on the road, and has got to lose the plastic at the bottom of the exterior it looks very cheap and does not belong on a luxury car.

Worst review ever...the guy is driving the CTS-V series which has 559 HP from the corvette ZR1 engine...to be honest CTS-V compared to the MKS is like comparing Michael Jordan to a college athlete....Cadillac wins hands down.
They didn't do a 0-60 MPH test. They didn't really show the seats. They didn't do a 60-0 braking test. What about the trunks? Of course the Lincoln will give a better ride when it up against the sport version of the Cadillac. I'm disappointed in this comparison.

Being a Ford employee of course my purchase will be the MKS. Having said that, they're both really nice cars in 2 different markets. It just depends if you're looking for sports luxury or comfort luxury.

@DidItForebode I believe the "world's fastest production sedan" claim was based solely on the Nurburgring world-record run, which I understand it still holds. The Panamera was supposedly faster, but even they acknowledge the time was not "official". And the 225 mph XFR was NOT stock. Impressive of course, but the XFR you can buy off the showroom floor cannot go that fast. However, the CTS-V that ran the Ring was completely stock.

What you've said is that the CTS-V is faster round the nurburgring and that it's faster from 0-60. So the Cadillac is slightly faster, so what? its not like the Jaguar is slow. The point im making is this, when you want to drive quickly, both cars are good. But if that's all you want then buy a car that's genuinly fast, like a track car, or a 911 or something, not a foor door.

a better comparison would be an sts vs mks. you could even do a sts-v vs the new mks ecoboost. the Cadillac would be classier and faster but gm's are only good for two years. ford makes quality vehicles but has a lot of work to do to make lincoln a true luxury brand. the lincoln LS was awesome, they should have kept it and competed against the cts. lincoln and caddy's flag ships are now both going to be front/all-wheel drive crap. oh, well.

I drive a 2009 mkS and love it.
I tried a Caddy STS for two weeks and that too is a great car but the Lincoln is roomier, more comfortable and comes with about $15k worth of electronics and back seat passengers have plenty of room and really like the sun roof for the back seat.
The CTS is more sporty and has nowhere near the ride of the Lincoln, noisy ride.And the room in the back seats leaves something to be desired.
They should have compared the Lincoln to the STS instead of the CTS.

listen to the difference between the highway noise, Lincoln ftw. A luxury car that tries to be sporty isn't being honest with itself, you have sport or you have luxury and at that price range there isn't really room to cross those lines. The MKS is striving to be what it was always meant to be, a smooth American luxury car so I would choose it between the two.

This comparison doesn't make sense. The Caddy CTS that is NOT a V series model should have been the car to compare here. The V series cars is ALL about being a sporty luxury car which adds a whole new dimension to the characteristic of the car.
To say the Allante is like a luxury Corvette while riding is a CTS V is actually a pretty funny statement as I think the CTS-V is about the closest thing you can get to having a 4 door Corvette with the added luxury of a Caddy.

this is such a biased comparison, CTS-V vs MKS which are 2 totally different cars, aimed at 2 totally different groups of people, BTW the base CTS starts at like 34grand. not the 50s, A better comparison would have been a MKS vs cadillac DTS because they are both front wheel drive cars even though the DTS doesnt have AWD, i dont think the STS would compare very well beacuse its rear wheel, but who cares lol theres going t be a DTS/STS replacement in a couple years and its going to be 1 vehicle

Being a Ford employee of course my purchase will be the MKS. Having said that, they're both really nice cars in 2 different markets. It just depends if you're looking for sports luxury or comfort luxury.
