  • do feel these isolate your chest better than your triceps or shoulders?

  • Hey man are floor presses harder than doing it on reg. bench? I have no spotter to hand me the weights on a bench, so you think a floor press would be better with powerblocks? Thanks...Oh and nice bench.

  • typically harder, yeah, especially if you have a technically proficient bench press. It's a very useful assistance movement, but in my opinion not a perfect substitute if you're training specifically to increase your bench press.

  • Thanks for responding. Have you ever seen sumone do weighted push ups, with weights on their back. IDK if doing the floor presses would be better or weighted push ups for building muscle. My prob is I dont have a spotter and a machine, so I can do either floor presses or weighted push ups but which is but will either put on muscle. I already got dips in my workout. Also, is it hard to get that weight on a floor press in position to lift. Im thinkin it would be hard. Srry for the qs.

  • do both. Have you looked at all of the TWR vids? There's a push-up video on there with chains for added resistance.

Go heavy on the floor presses. Make up the volume on the push-ups. Add weight, prop your feet, etc to make the push-ups harder. Weighted dips are a great exercise for folks with healthy shoulders.

  • I think the single arm dumbell press is more difficult on a bench than the floor personally. With no support for the elbow, i find it more difficult to maintain correct elbow position, stable base and proper lift arch off a bench. Both ways work well though.
