Unfortunately I had to make this one a dislike due to the fact the packethead provides no information how he did this for fellow enthusiasts who cannot affford his commercial venture, coupled with the fact that not even on his commercial web site does he indicate how expensive it would be to produce the video above. Just another teaser on youtube. Waste of my time as a homeowner if I cannot afford your commercial product to reproduce this. Next time just say so.
@xtremejeeps Actually try contacting him through the website. I am an average homeowner and this year I am venturing into pixels and have decided on using equipment from him, so we CAN afford it. While not quite 2,000 pixels of the above example, my 1360 pixel tree should be rather good, at least I hope it will :)
Hi Xtreme, Glad that you liked the video. At the time i put this together it was highly experimental and somethign that was a hobby. Very quickly a lot of people got in touch and asked me to build them one. And it became a commerical reality, which supports not just my family, but several familys as well.. On our web site there is no pricing, ( because every job is differnet ), but we do reply to every contact made, if you have some requirements please let us know.
@xtremejeeps we are all different in what budgets we have and are 'allowed' to spend on our christmas displays, there are many of us who do have the budget to put on a display at this level and mrpacketheads solutions are by far the best out there. You do have many options of building this type of display yourself 'on the cheap' but I think that would be out of your budget as well.
This is unbelievable! No light-o-rama controller can do that! I am truly Amazed and wish I hadn't wasted my money on my 16 channel controller...I don't know if I could ever afford your system nor even understand how you sequenced the light individually. Truly Beautiful!!!
OMG Packet, I have put emphasis on my static tree for over 18 years and will be doing an LOR Mega Tree this year. Your tree is very inspirational. Best Mega Tree I have ever seen by far.
hey where did you do this at? i would love to take my gf just to witness this beautiful event...it would be really romantic i think n maybe add some popcorn :P
Wow dude.. I could just sit outside your house ALL night and watch that... Very well done. Does it run off music or is it just the lights by themselves?
He he boring yeah right. This is incredible! Individual addressable tri-color leds.. that's a dream come true for any lighting fanatic. I guess in a way it is almost a tree shaped 3D monitor.

Wow, how do you even begin to sequence 2000 lights? My 24 channel setup took about 4min per sec to sequence!

Hi, The hardware is our own build, and these are our prototypes.. Early next year, the entire system will be avaialble for general purchase.
This is a hobby that got a littel out of control.
