You see I'm not one to believe in superstition. I believe you had it in you the whole time. But something about that place brings such an unexplainable emotional stirring, I think that's where Robert Johnson found his "powers", from an intense wave of musical drive. That spot does the same only tenfold for us, since Robert Johnson himself was there and all. Amazing! You're a lucky man.
I went to Robert Johnson's gravesite and I immediately felt a new understanding of music... Almost like a surge of understanding...
And the winds and the birds are definitely something that comes out of nowhere.... It is freaky, but cool...
Check out the video of me at his gravesite..... you can see the wind and hear the birds come up from dead silence.... The Ms Delta is a magical place.....
I know this country...born and raised there. My family are farmers and we worked land just north of Dockery Farms. Drove all around, thru it and never knew all of this until several years ago. Still finding out things that I didn't know.
how can you be sure that its THE crossroads and not just A crossroads? there are alot of crossroads in that area. you think that little gravel road was there 80 years ago?
I feel very happy for you my Bro. You have lived an historical experience. Only the real bluesmen, can apreciate how important is the moment that you lived.
thats the thing, we were looking for dockery farms, and accidently went to the crossroads! then 2 days later i played in new orleans along the MS river, and people were coming up to me in praise saying where did you learn that? and then it hit me!
you guys should of went there at midnight thats the whole Robert Johnson Legend meeting the devil

Dockery Farms is easy to find!
Go to Hwy 61 and Hwy 8 in Cleveland.
Turn East on to Hwy 8 and travel a few miles.
It will be on your left...

@JakeJamesFriel Nope, the REAL crossroads are out by Home Cypress, going in the direction towards Alligator, MS.

@JakeJamesFriel
49 and 61 is the "Clarksdale Tourist version"
The two possible and most likely crossroads are:
1) Down the Gravel road directly across from Dockery Farms to the 1st intersection.
2) Outside of Greenwood close to where Robert Johnson was living as a young man.
I know the exact place that I am referring but I keep it to myself.
It is a short ways from the Little Zion Baptist Church, where he is buried...

It looks like this marsh area in Sacramento, California where I took a dump twenty-five years ago hanging around with my friends!
