  • the look like angry gummy worms!

  • how do u set this up? is it squished between 2 slides? Because I have been trying to do that, and the water just spills everywhere..

  • @AnimationSector As I mentioned earlier, you need to raise up the cover slip a bit by putting "feet" on the corners. I have a bit of clay that I scratch the corners of the cover slip with to give it a little elevation above the slide. This will allow for movement underneath the slip, but won't affect focus.

  • @MorgannaEirisa thank you.

  • Im scared to go swimming... O.O

  • wwow you are some smart teachers there lol

  • Did you light the sample from the bottom or the top, and did you use dye?

  • @DemonLDR Lit from the bottom, typical brightfield microscopy, no dye

  • this video saved my ass big time man thank you

  • Yech. Looks like its stomach is cleaving and fusing again when it moves. That can't happen, can it?

  • how did you get this footage

  • @LILMAMA2050 read the video description...

  • @MorgannaEirisa thank I have one more question. Thanks for the quick reply btw. I need this for my homework. You know when cells divide so quickly like bacteria, how they they keep making more bacteria so fast. Doesn't this violate the law of conservation of mass since the cells keep dividing their mass decreases. Or are the bacteria that are produced lighter and lighter?

  • @1sushicheese1 You should really do your homework by studying the text, not asking strangers on the internet. However, cells dividing do not violate any laws because they grow before they divide. Bacteria are living things that need to eat and grow just like any other creature. During interphase (the time when mitosis is not occuring), bacteria are growing larger until they get too big to sustain themselves efficiently. They then divide into two daughter bacteria cells.

  • It's cute in a way.. ._____.

  • are these invisible to the naked eye?

  • @Daimen555 Yes. That's why it's in a microscope. It's at approximately 100X magnification.

  • @Daimen555 MorgannaEirisa is sort of right and wrong. If you have a good eye sight and you look close enough inside the wet mount you can see largers organisms like this almost like a long thin peice of orange dust. if i'm right these are Water Bears. They're consumers. Larger of most pond organisms.

  • fuck, i'm getting a microscope right now.

  • @ConnorXV fuck yea, dude!

  • I just saw this video because in Science Class my teacher was talking about it.

  • @CCkeminliu959 Did your teacher show it in class? If so, that is pretty sweet.

  • @MorgannaEirisa hi can you tell me why the worms appear to be in 2d and not 3d? And also when you put glass over them doesn't that crush them?

  • @1sushicheese1 To keep from crushing them I put "feet" on the coverslip. You just scratch the corners in a bit of wax so the coverslip is slightly raised above the slide. I'm not entirely sure, but I believe it looks more 2D because the depth of field that is in focus is so narrow.

  • what is it name? flat worm?

  • @dannynguyen280590 Another commenter suggested it could be a Stenostomum mandibulatum. I'm actually not entirely sure, I just found it in a fishtank.

  • @MorgannaEirisa thank you ur video is really helpful :)

  • You are welcome. I'm grateful to you for sharing your turbellarian discovery.

  • Hello.

This species might be Stenostomum mandibulatum.

  • @MasatsuguYamazaki Based on your video, it looks extremely likely. Thanks!

  • what's the magnification? It looks like some sort of planaria to me

  • @mtsn The magnification is about 100x total with a little bit extra for the mag on the camera mount itself.

  • damn, anyone want to play snake -1000x?

  • 0:59

    "Zomg! What was that?" Lol

  • woww that's very nice picture! I've used Zeiss and Leika microscopes myself, they're huge confusing things haha. ps i cant believe ur class watched our "because trp got high" video, maybe my prof told ur prof about it..? or we r "going viral" lol

  • @shoemaukertuvvick I think my prof just spends a lot of time on youtube. We've also watched the PCR song ballad thing.

but your video is pretty great, I've also shown it to a friend at NDSU

  • amazing!!!!!!

  • yo they look like snakes

  • Amazing!

  • reminds me of Spore! x3

  • @YuseiFudo12321 YES!!! another spore fan!

  • @Mondraverse yeah Spore is so awsome they used it in Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman

  • @YuseiFudo12321 and in "how to build a better being!"
