Folks, there is another side to the story today. I have been to LatAm over 70 times for US multinationals during the 90s and 00s. I worked for a major oil company that created tens of thousands. We always paid all the taxes due and helped developed oil resources that have helped these LatAm country prosper today. Are there crooked multinationals? Sure, but they are the exception (crooked companies that give the majority a bad name).
I think the problem is that part of the reason that the processes he's describing work so well is that they are disguised as having "good" outcomes. Like you say, LatAm helped countries prosper due to their development of oil resources, but it truly only helped the upper classes of those countries, while ignoring the poor. Like he said in the first video, the poor don't reap the benefits, as they lack the necessary education and skills to attain the jobs necessary to reach the upper class.
@Xochiquezalisfun As an example, I was involved in the early stages of the development of Brasil's enormous offshore oil and gas production. The project created over 700K good paying jobs in the greater Rio area. Rio was filled with Favellas (slums) at the time. The indirect taxes paid Brasil and its States to bring the equipment and material in cost billions of US$. Did the ruling class benefit? Absolutely, but a hell of alot of poor Brazilians are now middle class thanks to jobs.
what about not becoming a battery for these guys but actually making a system that makes it impossible for these people to abuse the countries. this just shows that they have run out of cash and that they want more by that they dont step forward and give back what these people have stolen from the people!
Psychonavigation: Techniques for Travel Beyond Time by J. Perkins:
"From the Amazon rain forests to North American boardrooms, John Perkins has used shamanic wisdom to spark cultural changes around the world." ?Intuition This groundbreaking book is John Perkins's
first hand account of his experiences with the shamanic technique of psychonavigation a method of traveling outside the body by means of visions and dream wanderings?and his encounters with the Shuar of the Amazon, the Quechua of the Andes, and the Bugis of Indonesia. Shuar shamans psychonavigate for the purposes of hunting and healing, while the Bugis, among the most renowned sailors of the world, use these techniques to navigate without the aid of charts and compasses.
Perkins explains how these techniques work and how the people of these indigenous cultures psychonavigate to both distant physical destinations and sources of inner wisdom. Throughout history, psychonavigation has been practiced by highly creative minds such as Beethoven, Jung, and Einstein. Perkins's riveting narrative takes us on a journey of personal discovery
as he learns the great value of these techniques and their relevance not only to individual well-being, but to the health of the environment and of the world at large. He reveals how by attuning to the positive forces in nature and communicating with our inner guides we all can become psychonavigators, finding our way to wise decisions and developing innovative approaches to the challenges we face as individuals and a world community.
Psychonavigation and his other books follow his life and adventures after Hit Man. John has used the knowledge he gainedfrom master shamans around the world in his successful career as a management consultant, president of a U.S. energy company, and as founder of the Dream Change Coalition, an organization that inspires executives to clean up pollution, reshape corporate goals, and form Earth-honoring partnerships with indigenous cultures
wait this guy worked for the peacecorps, was part of the 60's counter culture movement and was then magically hired by the US gov for secret economic ops?
I believed everything up until this point, but I feel something is now amiss.
@111imstupid111 There is a difference in exploiting vulnerable sources of information, and trusting a known enemy with your most important secrets.
The difference is that the former is standard policy of intelligence agencies and governments, and the other is called "mild retardation"
If someone is known to be critical of my existence, I won't typically award him the keys to my house, car, and give him a gun so I can hope that he will pretend propagate my agendas.
@762full All of that is true in fact . Even to the point where no one has ever disputed his position , the only thing in dispute was his actions . You are in the dark sir. Keep watching your fox news and you will stay in the dark.
so this guy has been doing his thing for decades without a conscience, and now he wants to come out to share some information and solutions with us? Think of the word 'conman'. Confidence man. Gain confidence and then have your way. A lie becomes much more potent when mixed with a little truth. If you were a trained liar for most of your life, I find it hard to believe it's something you just turn off on a whim. Take his information, be critical, but be very skeptical of the solutions proposed
Kevm3, you make a good point. One has to ask the critical question; what's in this for him? The answer I keep coming up with is that he is trying to sell his book. Yea, I believ he is telling the truth, I do not doubt one word he have spoken. The real issue here is that the information he exposed is not harmful! wrong doing. There's nothing anybody can really do about! Yea, we can talk about it, but thats ALL!
@kevm3 Very well said. While his monolouges offer an insight to the history and various events on the planet, I am not entirely keen on the solutions he offers.
@kevm3 exactly, props for making this comment, people are so stupid they think everything has to be either black or white, eh,... I guess looking at facts and making up your own mind isn't the cool thing anymore..
Well Im a capitolist born, and raised here in good old U.S.A. The are no morals, and integrity of this system built on blood. You people are fools get money are die like poor immigrants. Its foolish to think otherwise, just beligerent beyond belief. Its the nature of the world in which man lives. Should we all get together an sing kumbaya my lord bullshit.
Yes yes U.S. bad man everybody else is good blah, blah, blah. Its amazing that no one else has any responsiblity. The great Chavez whos economy system is in ruins, plus the high crime rate in Venezuela. We all no what the foriegn policy is of the U.S. Plan and simple to keep money coming back to the U.S. Same as the policy for the World bank to control the debt. By god lets join them are do something about it. No lets blah, blah, blah, blah, blame others then blah blah lol geez shut the fck up.
He says a lot about 'doing something', but it is fucking hard. As a man on the street, what do you do? You cant appeal to congress or senate, they do what they're told by central govt or lobby groups most of the time, and they are rich men who have a vested interest in the status quo. So now what? Riot in the street? wed be treated as lunatics or dangerous elements. I know im being pessimistic, but really, how should richworld dissidents make themselves heard in the sea of conformity?
@oystersdontbleed That's a cop out, my friend. Spread the word, vote in presidents like Ron Paul, VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET! Don't buy from unethical corporations (if you can afford it), tell everyone you know about the corporatocracy, organize demonstrations, etc. etc. etc.
Believe me, more people will wake up than you think. The evidence is all there.
@LaughingMage Voting isn't really going to change a thing. Presidents are the prisoners of the corporatocracy. You really think that Obama would won the elections without the financial support of the corporations? Watch zeitgeist moving forward. We need to get rid of the monetary system, that's the real problem!
Implement direct democracy, then politician will play a much smaller role, and if the coorporation wants to pay off all the people then let them do it.
John is telling the truth and we ecuadorians with enough brain cells know his saying big truths and being pretty brave to tell it the way it is. We seen how all our oil big resources turned into $US goes to pay debt and not invest in social programs. Getting loans from IMF just to become slaves of our debts caused we are obligued to sign not to use that credit to educatin and health and justice etc
im having doubts.. does John know anything about politics ? from what is he saying, apparently he doesn't know anything about "democracy", if he is someone that the COMPANY is affordable to lose, he shouldn't be very smart.
Has he ever explained how did he ended up in this situation? Telling stories to unhappy people to make money. He is employing patriotism, he almost stated that he believes in 911 was a terrorist coup...
The guy is confessing to try and change things. he dosent like what he done and if he was arrested and hanged at the time, the job would have went to someone else who probably wouldnt have the guts to confess now. So go hang yourself. Maximum respect to this guy for having the guts to say 'fuck you' to the government. Not many people have balls that big.
hang centurion for being a douch and all the bankers.
What to do when a mass murdering CIA jackal marches into an office of a Head of State of a small Republic, and threatens the lives of tens of millions of innocent citizens?
Arrest that bastard on the spot.
Snatch him up in irons, march him to a national TV broadcast where his crimes are denounced, and then televise an immediate public HANGING.
@atech786. A real murderer had captured recently in Mexico from a drug cartel, is charged with more than 600 men killed, the murderer is called: EL TEO. The only end with all the stupid fans like you, go down any building or stoning a woman, damn. STUPIT PUNK FANATIC BITCH.
Indeed, "Islam is the truth", you've forgot the rest of the sentence "only if there is no 193 other countries and 193 other religions out there", you must wipe them out.
Aside from the Al Gore statement.. (Al Gore being one of the most corrupt "human" beings on planet earth) i believe this guy has alot of good points.. most ppl dont know the truth about "global warming" so the're simply repeating what Wolf Blitzer or some cable news reporter told them was fact... do your own research
DEATH to corporations DEATH to the fed DEATH to capitalism DEATH to socialism and DEATH to warfare, cooperative economy for ALL the small town of mondragon Span is in excellent example of effective cooperative economics 7th largest & (only cooperative) corporation in span, and even in the worst recessions early-80s and present recession they still manage to have 0.6% unemployment as a result lower crime rate higher wages better than Eisenhower's 1953 rate 2.92 lowest on record look up mondragon
This man brings such light with him, such a strong aura of positive change. What he is proposing is a resource based economy, a way to make all the worlds resources available to all the worlds people, because once something becomes abundant and not scarce, it doesn't cause wars, deaths, politics, it even eliminates the need for currency. So no, he is not an "Al Gore cronie". Watch the favourites on my channel and build the links between this video and the ones you'll see there. Open your mind.
All this dude is talking i know it , because I smoke ganja, ganja OPENS YOUR EYES people , the things that gov't prohibit is because of something it aint free, pharmaceutics cant patent MARIHUANA, this is why its ilegal..... fck the pharmaceutics, fck the pigs
I can speak for my country COLOMBIA, and yes I dont understand how USA/World Bank is still asking us for a Debt from like 60 years ago, its so obvious , they DONT want us DEVELOPED , they just want us to be paying a LOAN and keep cashin bank interest, for there own benefit, its so sad....
Also this guy speaks the truth bout USA being strategically in different places in the world (IRAK ,COLOMBIA, PANAMA,ISRAEL) im tired of U.S.A , im tired of Capitalism
It's not capitalism that is the problem, it's the people at the very top who have amassed too much power and wealth who are acting corruptly. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
I was with this guy until he started on the Al Gore Movie that is a complete hoax. And community corporations smell like communism to me. But fighting corporatocracy thing I am all for that. We need to break the bond between government and corporations who over and over again act like psychopaths and when caught red handed get a mere slap on the wrist.

haha why would he say shit about ww2 he wasnt involved in it,hes jsut speaking to what he KNOWS of because he was involved.Companies should definitely exist as long as we have a monetary system.Corparations should not have ANY control over our foreign policies and definitely no say in how we should be living.
This guy seems like a bit of a unitarian scam, he doesn't seem to be stating that because the US got involved in WW2 that the US government got in tough with NAZI "geniuses" which shaped your fascist past until '89, where you began collecting ex-Soviet geniuses and now your gov't is consolidating government styles form the worst dictatorships in the last 100 years.
Please USA, Stay away From SRI LANKA, we know that USA help LTTE terrorists and dont want to see the 30 year war comes to an end, We Sri Lankans knows, the dirty way of USA .....Back off, we dont need ur help USA.....
first, before i start to contradict you I want to know what you know about corporations. I think you make a confusion within "company" , "corporation", "holding", and a banal firm.
Food? Farmers stupid. Uh, Houses? Stupid, contractors, you don't need large corporations for that, hell, not even incorporated individuals. Cars? That's about it. Even then, you could nationalize and produce vehicles for the people and let small and independent companies develope specialty and luxury vehicles. You're DUUUMB! You better grow a brain after reading this reply, otherwise... YOU'RE FUCKING STUPID!
@sillydillydokieo fu if corporations didnt exist people would build them themselves,or learn to live without them,or pay a blacksmith to doit, people lived fine without themn fopr thousands of years, also uy forbgot to ask, without them "hoo would put msg in our food, who would poison the water with fuking prozac(floride/clorine)etc
I also study finance and economics any nongenius knows that the elite make money off recessions and depressions recession are mainly cause by inflation, the increase of interest on that money and the fear of the people. When invest in the stock market and you loose on a particular stock that money still exist just no longer in the stock. And remember there is a difference between the wealthy and those who create money.
I just don't know where you people are getting all these ideas from. I'm not saying you are wrong, all I'm saying is that through my studies of economics (and I've studied at the U of C under the best economists in the world), business, and history, I've never came across such ideas. Recessions and depressions are planned? Why would rich people want to destroy their investments and their country? The wealthiest people in the US are lost a lot of money now.
It's not money that is important but power. If you still have power, no money in the world will matter. Especially when you can create a new one-world government with new currency. :\
Before you start philosophizing you should start with reading about the history of "money". Money is not simply an abstract idea that can be abandoned because "somebody" with "power" simply decides to do so. You can also read more on the importance of financing wars, which goes to show how you can't easily separate money from power. I believe you are a young student so this is for you:
Confucius says, "To study without thinking is wasteful; to think without study is dangerous."
I'm not saying it'll be abandoned. Nor am I saying that it'll be separated from power. I'm saying that money was made by humans and the value is decided by humans. It is not some mystical nor natural creation sprung out of mother nature's womb.
You should check out Karl Polanyi's "Great Transformation". I've barely said anything and you jump to the conclusion that I'm not thinking while I study.
I would like to reply to a comment that was deleted. To jab12S:
Corporations, like you and me, must follow laws. If disclosure laws, environmental laws, etc., are broken, then they must be punished. Otherwise, businesses make their money on VOLUNTARY transactions. Would you buy something that would ruin your life? Get real, get a job, and get a book.
Exactly ..I agree , so what's your objection to what John Perkins is saying regarding these corporations that are destroying people's lives , to turn a profit ..? To further the interests of a few people , at the expense of the many ..that is a crime , dont you think ?
Would you rather have coporations making a few people rich , at our expense , at the expense of our chilldren's survival ?At the cost of our air, water, our health , our lives ?
Sure a business has to turn a profit , that's the primary reason, for a corporation"MAKE MONEY",however your product and services should improve other people's lives, not destroy them ..not destroy our environment in the process of turning a profit. If you dont see the wisdom and value in that , you're a fucking moron.
Have you always been watching TV and living in fish farm the Illuminati built for you? Your dreams will soon become a nightmare......just a little more time. your whole world will come crashing down expecially when the 350,000 Mexican man army, followed by Chinese and Russian Troops in mexico today and over 1,000,000 UN troops inside the US invade as planned.....and to fill up the over 3,000, concentration camps built by Halliburton......then lets talk reality.
these people writing here are either shills for the government or they are living in the lies passed by the government and our fabricated history books. The idea of messing with South America is the setting up the South American Union. Its about the New World Order. The CIA and British interest are interested in killing as many as possible in the near future.
Yea, if you listen to this psycho, businesses' primary function would be to serve the employees. LOL. F the investor, F the pension funds, lets serve the employees, yeah! So where will businesses get financing? Um, um, um...yea, that's what I thought.
Businesses do not serve the employees. The major businesses are serving the agenda of bringing us to a New World Order that is evil and a dictatorship based on the evil intentions of the UN, CFR, Bilderbergers, RIIA and Trilateral Commission etc....
I've done all of the above and then found out the truth as I have provided you now. The New World Order and a dictatorship is the reality. Corporations are setting up the depression in the same way they did it in 1929 as planned over a decade before. The government will confiscate the gold after the national disaster is declared that is coming and subsequently martial law.Gold taken by the Gold Confiscation Act of 1933 by the TRAITOR FDR, who failed in his role, except for helping start WW II.
its is an absolute fact!!!! Recessions, Inflationary periods and ALL depressions are created scientifically, 10-20 years ahead. This is well documented and irrefutable......They are planned to begin the next war on cue........Wall Street; Prescott Bush, DuPonts, Henry Ford, IBM, Rockefellers' and many more FULLY FUNDED Hitler to get him started....Irrefutable fact of history. they planned the Great Depression a full decade before......in preparation of a planned Military coup and WWII
yea, he's right we are not a democracy we are a republic. the founders hated a democracy because it is rule by the majority, mob rule. A republic takes care of that. But, I know what he meant, that we are probably a fascist state.
What about the current FAKE global financial crisis?
It started from within the corporates, with or without economic hitmen?
There can only be true democracy if a society is based on
respect+freedom+trust
From this follows truth, honesty, proper information for everyone and even "love". Love for people, love for nature, love for ourself, love for ourselves, love for the universe.
new standards not well known yet... ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standards... documents we can use to change the corporatocracy in short order.

The indirect taxes paid Brasil and its States to bring the equipment and material in cost billions of US$. Did the ruling class benefit? Absolutely, but a hell of alot of poor Brazilians are now middle class thanks to jobs.

Psychonavigation: Techniques for Travel Beyond Time by J. Perkins:
"From the Amazon rain forests to North American boardrooms, John Perkins has used shamanic wisdom to spark cultural changes around the world." ?Intuition This groundbreaking book is John Perkins's
starywron 1 year ago
first hand account of his experiences with the shamanic technique of psychonavigation a method of traveling outside the body by means of visions and dream wanderings?and his encounters with the Shuar of the Amazon, the Quechua of the Andes, and the Bugis of Indonesia. Shuar shamans psychonavigate for the purposes of hunting and healing, while the Bugis, among the most renowned sailors of the world, use these techniques to navigate without the aid of charts and compasses.
starywron 1 year ago
Perkins explains how these techniques work and how the people of these indigenous cultures psychonavigate to both distant physical destinations and sources of inner wisdom. Throughout history, psychonavigation has been practiced by highly creative minds such as Beethoven, Jung, and Einstein. Perkins's riveting narrative takes us on a journey of personal discovery
starywron 1 year ago
as he learns the great value of these techniques and their relevance not only to individual well-being, but to the health of the environment and of the world at large. He reveals how by attuning to the positive forces in nature and communicating with our inner guides we all can become psychonavigators, finding our way to wise decisions and developing innovative approaches to the challenges we face as individuals and a world community.
starywron 1 year ago
Psychonavigation and his other books follow his life and adventures after Hit Man. John has used the knowledge he gainedfrom master shamans around the world in his successful career as a management consultant, president of a U.S. energy company, and as founder of the Dream Change Coalition, an organization that inspires executives to clean up pollution, reshape corporate goals, and form Earth-honoring partnerships with indigenous cultures

so this guy has been doing his thing for decades without a conscience, and now he wants to come out to share some information and solutions with us? Think of the word 'conman'. Confidence man. Gain confidence and then have your way. A lie becomes much more potent when mixed with a little truth. If you were a trained liar for most of your life, I find it hard to believe it's something you just turn off on a whim. Take his information, be critical, but be very skeptical of the solutions proposed
kevm3 1 year ago
Kevm3, you make a good point. One has to ask the critical question; what's in this for him? The answer I keep coming up with is that he is trying to sell his book. Yea, I believ he is telling the truth, I do not doubt one word he have spoken. The real issue here is that the information he exposed is not harmful! wrong doing. There's nothing anybody can really do about! Yea, we can talk about it, but thats ALL!

ROCHELDION 3 years ago
I just don't know where you people are getting all these ideas from. I'm not saying you are wrong, all I'm saying is that through my studies of economics (and I've studied at the U of C under the best economists in the world), business, and history, I've never came across such ideas. Recessions and depressions are planned? Why would rich people want to destroy their investments and their country? The wealthiest people in the US are lost a lot of money now.

It's not money that is important but power. If you still have power, no money in the world will matter. Especially when you can create a new one-world government with new currency. :\
aLessonfromMidus 2 years ago 3
OK, but clearly you don't understand what "money' is.
bjan87 2 years ago
It's a human-crafted idea given importance long before capitalist societies to give life to the idea of using markets. :\
aLessonfromMidus 2 years ago
Before you start philosophizing you should start with reading about the history of "money". Money is not simply an abstract idea that can be abandoned because "somebody" with "power" simply decides to do so. You can also read more on the importance of financing wars, which goes to show how you can't easily separate money from power. I believe you are a young student so this is for you:
Confucius says, "To study without thinking is wasteful; to think without study is dangerous."
bjan87 2 years ago

Get real, get a job, and get a book.
bjan87 3 years ago
Exactly ..I agree , so what's your objection to what John Perkins is saying regarding these corporations that are destroying people's lives , to turn a profit ..? To further the interests of a few people , at the expense of the many ..that is a crime , dont you think ?

Sure a business has to turn a profit , that's the primary reason, for a corporation"MAKE MONEY",however your product and services should improve other people's lives, not destroy them ..not destroy our environment in the process of turning a profit. If you dont see the wisdom and value in that , you're a fucking moron.

bjan87 3 years ago
