biggest difference about GH then and now, then a fire in a building and death of a character is about the effect it had on the other characters and the storylines it could trigger, now it would have been all about how big of explosion they could rig and the death and after effects are quickly overlooked, and used as an excuse to toss the female into bed with another man asap.
What ever happened to Taggert? I don't remember. I miss him, he was a combination of real #sshole, good cop and compassionate man. Plus he was great nemesis to Sonny.

Back then, Lucky Spencer didn't technically die in that fire because he was being held captive by an old school villain from the show known as Faison.
However, when the original Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) was replaced with another actor, the character sadly died at that point. Jonathan was the ONLY Lucky back in the 90's.

The worst part of this entire event was Luke having to tell Laura...I KNEW Lucky was still alive and it still killed me. I also love that Sonny is crying. I just love that guy!

For the love of pete, I am tearing up all over again! These scenes seem like yesterday and I remember BAWLING my eyes out for 3 consecutive days over the "death" of Lucky. I was an absolute wreck for a while cause I missed JJ and EVERYONE rocked these scenes, esp. BH! Taggert, LnL, Sonny, Jason, Bobbie, just sooo good. And dayum, I miss Taggert! He was good fodder for Sonny/Jason and was one of the good guys..Bravo scenes!! When GH was truly the best soap in daytime..

I screamed, called them a liar, fell to the vround and then ran out of my house and screamed at God for taking him away from me. This scene made me feel that all over again. I loved it and hated it both.
Actually, Jason was supposedly 20 when he had his accident. This was brought back up in a recent scene between Nik and Jason. The age difference is different in real life than on the show, maybe just from oversight.
Elizabeth is 16 at this time because this is May and she will turn 17 on November 1, 1999, but they decided to soras her age so that she turned 18, but that didn't work because us fans knew how old she really was suppose to be. Jason celebrated his 21 birthday a year before his brain damage in the car accident with AJ.

No offense, b/c no one claims it was love at first sight for Liason. But he was attracted to her from the start..Yes, Jason is empathetic to Liz, much like w/Robin about Stone; he was smitten immediately. Every couple has to start somewhere; b/c he knew Lucky & was there when Liz lost him.. I think he identifies even moreso w/her than anyone else.
