Both MW2 and Black ops (and now probably MW3) are best sellers simply because CoD 4 was a great game. They didn't evolve very much since then and it's basically the same stuff only made few years later, while Battlefield evolved very much and is going to be played for a reason.

After call of duty 2 it has lost its luster (in my opinion) it went from a fun and interesting with a good story infused with actual history from the war, footage from ww2 and putting in the boots of a solider in the events, to completely repetitive cold war story that is outlandish and unbearably cliche taking plot twist from movies like the rock, red dawn, black hawk down, Rescue Dawn etc etc
