  • I thought WALK THE LINE was best movie about a musician, till i saw CONTROL

  • this is truly amazing. it does ian curtis honor.

  • my honors to the guy like morris! that song its not easy on drums

  • I wonder whether these performances were recorded live, with the band members actually playing the instruments - it looks pretty real

  • @lewys93

    Yup, it was

  • OTIMA COVER PARECE MESMO O SOM,O VISUAL TUDO ESTÁ BEM PARECIDO COM A JOY DIVISION

  • FUCKING GENIUS!!!

  • FUCKING GENIUS!!!

  • He doesnt epileptic sezuire right

  • Im really suprised that Sam didn't commited suicide, coz act so close as Ian Curtis would kill me...

  • They did a very good job with this film

  • I love these versions the actors did so awesome. I just wish the movie showed more of Ian Curtis's badassery. Great movie and good covers too anyway

  • Wooooooow! There voices are sooooo similar in this clip! I almost can't tell them apart!

  • SAM RILEY does an extraordinary performance as ian curtis' tortured soul and song writing icon and does him justice ; total committment, balls out, perfection, the dance moves and facial expressions, everything is like holding a mirror to the real Ian, an uncanny and heartfelt piece of acting in a truely moving and authentic film.

  • make Joy Division #1 in the UK for 18-05-10, it will have been 30 years since Ian passed, push Love will tear us Apart to the top, there is a facebook group

  • sam riley is friggin sexy.

  • it sounded a little rough, but over all, good. and the bassist, joe anderson, would be cuter if he didnt wear that specific type of clothing.

  • You are 21 years old according to your profile. You were not even sperm when Ian Curtis was alive. And this groups of actors did a tremendous job considering only one was a muscian prior to the movie. Thus, learn before you speak like the child you are.

  • @dprague which one was the musician? i think it's the drummer

  • i dont understand, the tv debut that this scene relates to they performed shadowplay not transmission!!??

  • no the original video really does start like this just search it and you'll see.

  • yes ur correct they decided to mix and match

  • @keo767p

Yes... they did play Shadowplay in reality, but you know Hollywood movies, they twist and bend facts to suit themselves... the bastards!! Still, this performance is fucking amazing, don't you think???

  • @CARNLOU

I think they did it cuz this song is a bit shorter so the scene doesn't feel elongated. And maybe they also wanted to emphasize his dancing 8]

  • @CARNLOU Actually, this is a BRITISH made film, not a Hollywood one...so watch who you go around calling a bastard...k. ;)

  • great song of joy division yayy :)

    Ohh, Ian looks so cute

  • Yeah, Sam Riley does quite a good job, pity Paul Bank's wasn't available! it would have been like Ian Curtis's second coming.

  • Paul Banks doing Curtis would be fucking PHENOMENAL.

  • Yes it would he can hit the high note's and LOW note's too, amazing vocalist as well. Look's a little like him too. I saw Interpol once at Leeds festival and Paul Banks sounded identical to Curtis in the indoor tent.

  • In his seems like Curtis' second coming. They both have that occasional low register voice. To me when i ever i hear Untitled or Evil to name a few, i think of Ian Curtis

  • i think they changed it because it's a shorter, more punchy song to show for the film

  • what stranger1503714 means is that the host in the original footage, he announced shadowplay, not transmission

  • radio ive transmission

  • "hands up if you were trying to do the ian arm dance thing "

    \o/

  • hands up if you were trying to do the ian arm dance thing

  • !!!

  • matrix bullet dodge style

  • Dance dance dance to the fuckin radio!

  • digs

  • Thanks a lot for update this extended performances and for upload the link to the zip file :D :D

I'm so glad to found it!

I liked some songs of Joy Division before watch this movie, but after see it, I just fell in love with Joy Division and with the performance of the actors (specially Sam)

I have to read the book from Debby!

    Thanks again

    Bye!

  • me too!! i liked some of jd before but after the movie i completely fell in love with them :D i prefer ian's voice and style, but sam riley does a fantastic job!

  • sam riley did and awesome part........just like val kilmer did a owesome jim morrison.

  • wow, no reverb. seems so strange in a post phil spector world

  • I, on the other hand, like Ian Curtis's voice, but I think Sam Riley has a good voice too. I loved his performance in this film.

  • The intro sounds like he's trying to describe them, like a painting.

The part before this is halarious!

  • thank you for posting these videos. i thoroughly enjoyed the movie, even though i'm not a joy division fan. but i have to admit that i prefer riley to curtis. curtis's voice is just way to deep for me to enjoy.
