Miguel, you really enlightened me as to how extraordinary Chris Squire's bass line is, and how skillfully you have mastered his awesome technique! I've always loved Chris' playing, but hearing it more on top rather than somewhat beneath the other leads gives me a much stronger appreciation of him and of YES as a whole (whatever the lineup happens to be at the time). Keep up the great work...after all, we need for YESmusic to live on forever!

You know, I've played YES bass for 20 years and every time I watch Miguel- I learn something I missed in my ability to replicate Chris's notes. Damn!

Awesome job with the playing and with the background! This is one of my favorite Yes albums, now. It's not a flashy album--it's like Tales from Topographic Oceans in that respect (FFH is more focused, thankfully). But, the lyrics and the music create a great story.
@Ejak2021 True, it opens room for imagination. I have made up a kind of story in my head with this song, taking on the words... I think other listeners will also see other pictures. That's the good thing about Yes music :)
@TheDW12pc It's a real sore spot. Jon couldn't tour with them last tour because he had voice problems, so they replaced him with the singer form a Yes cover band. Jon got really pissed and is still pissed i guess. Chris owns the trademark to the name Yes though as he was the last original member left after Drama. That's why ABWH could not cal themselves Yes. Jon and Wakeman have record some stuff together since this latest falling out.

This is absolutely incredible ! Congrats for learning the whole song, and the video work is COOL. The bass part is great, which could be expected for a song written by Horn and performed by Squire. Two of my all-time favourite bass players along with people like Tony Levin and Mike Rutherford. If I had more spare time I'd re-do the backing tracks on my keyboards and do a vocal cover.

Interesting record. It's great having Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes back in the fold. It truly is the long-awaited sequel to Drama! Benoit's voice in interesting. He does sound somewhat like Jon, when singing Jon's parts live, but the way he sings these songs, he comes off sounding more like Trevor. My only critique is that I'm really not a fan of the sound of ProTools or MIDI, but that's the industry standard these days, so who am I to complain? Great playing as always Miguel.
@Mikemaniax I think it's no problem to criticize as you do. It's a valid opinion. I am not sure if I understood exactly what you meant. Yes I can detect some digital processing and editing that was noticeable. Then again it's something that happened on precious albums, I think even more than on this one. However, after some listens I start to get used to it. I also tend to detect those technical details, especially at the first listens. Thanks for commenting and watching!
@miguelbass Yes, I got Fly From Here, finally :) It is an unbelievable album, already one of my favorites ever! I think I've listened to it about...20 times already...my cd came in a hard plastic case, and it looked like a mirror with the Yes "snake" logo on it...I'm wondering how to get a white cd, like the one in your video? I also bought a copy of FFH on i-tunes, for my laptop :) My nephew J.J. wants the white cd, and so do I....it is our Fly From Here Holy Grail cd that we want :D

Excellent work Miguel! Do you also hear the 10-string bass used on a couple parts (some of the descending riffs) on this song? I've listened closely a few times and it's either the 10-string (used on 'Changes') or there's an octave dubbed over those parts. What are your thoughts?
@Tubeholio i "heard " the same as you an I even recorded it in 8 string overdub,when making the video. then I thought it's Steve doubling, after some repeated listening. But the effect is very similar to the ranney 8-string, especially from the 1979 Paris demos.
Miguel, I bought this album on the minute it came out on iTunes, same goes to the single version that came out a bit before. I listened to that album and thought that I really will like Miguel to like and approve it as well as a legit YES album! Thanks again for a GREAT cover of a great album, I must say!

So the idea was making the time leap from the Drama era.. i found some pics and started playing them to the music accents in the beginning. The intro was the part that gave me more work. I used some images of skies, some mine and some from the net... I get ideas as I start editing, there is no previous plan. I wanted to highlight the return of Trevor and Geoff. Thank you very much!

@miguelbass Yes, I got Fly From Here, finally :) It is an unbelievable album, already one of my favorites ever! I think I've listened to it about...20 times already...my cd came in a hard plastic case, and it looked like a mirror with the Yes "snake" logo on it...I'm wondering how to get a white cd, like the one in your video? I also bought a copy of FFH on i-tunes, for my laptop :) My nephew J.J. wants the white cd, and so do I....it is our Fly From Here Holy Grail cd that we want :D

Excellent work Miguel! Do you also hear the 10-string bass used on a couple parts (some of the descending riffs) on this song? I've listened closely a few times and it's either the 10-string (used on 'Changes') or there's an octave dubbed over those parts. What are your thoughts?

@Tubeholio i "heard " the same as you an I even recorded it in 8 string overdub,when making the video. then I thought it's Steve doubling, after some repeated listening. But the effect is very similar to the ranney 8-string, especially from the 1979 Paris demos.

Miguel, I bought this album on the minute it came out on iTunes, same goes to the single version that came out a bit before. I listened to that album and thought that I really will like Miguel to like and approve it as well as a legit YES album! Thanks again for a GREAT cover of a great album, I must say!

@ModernKaveman Hi. Actually Tim is the person I was replying to. Miguel here :) The video was made by me. So the idea was making the time leap from the Drama era.. i found some pics and started playing them to the music accents in the beginning. The intro was the part that gave me more work. I used some images of skies, some mine and some from the net... I get ideas as I start editing, there is no previous plan. I wanted to highlight the return of Trevor and Geoff. Thank you very much!

@NhonhoPlx O Álbum é excelente.Não vais adorar tudo à primeira. Requer várias audições p encontrar a lógica própria pois não há álbuns dos Yes iguais uns aos outros e este é mais 1 capítulo de uma longa história. Vais encontrar muitos pontos de interesse.A produção muito boa do TH,o regresso do som mais puro do Rickenbacker do Chris (mas não tão "sujo"), e se gostas de ouvir o Chris a cantar, ele está bem proeminente, como aconteceu no Drama.O melhor é descobri-lo e tirares as tuas ideias.abraço
