  • who cares about the korg controls, let's talk about mac vs pc...... fail

  • @g2k556 mac: low price/quality ratio for the hardware, but good software, never crash. windows: hardware costs what it REALLY costs, but software isn't good like MacOs for music and live equipmente where you need a reliable tool... so people.. BUY A WINDOWS NOTEBOOK AND INSTALL ON IT MACOSX

  • great.. I have korg nano keys and I want to buy nano control :))

  • tip : take audio from computer, not from shitty camera

  • Desktop PC rules.. End of al conversations.

  • buy a mac is just a fashion as to mix with tracktor ... if you do not have the ears to know his turntable mixer on emissions has not anything to cheat ;) I know very few people used "mac" in the studio, if you don't use a "pc" correctly go to mac;) there not so long ago "logic pro" was about "pc" " tracktor & mac " for >>> noob

  • that was awesome!

  • Sry for my bad english,

Which audio effect are you using?

Or is it a Korg Ableton Plugin?

  • Comment removed

  • which software do you use?

  • Hi Guys. I would explain that in this video i only wanna show u the new (new? its a 2yo video) nano controllers... I'm not saying that I'm a dj or what... its just a demo of using nano controllers & ableton, in this case I played techno-minimal music.

This is an answer for the past comments I red.

  • @elvizzo89 Could you please tell us how u mapped the Kord nano pad?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • someone give this guy some cash

  • molto bella questa song complimenti :)

  • DJ SET = VINYLS/CDS + MIXER + TURNATBLES (TECHNICS OR PIONEER FOR EX). ..

    LIVE ACTS = CONTROLLERS/ANOTHER INSTRUMENT + MAC/PC + MIXER = LIVE MUSIC CREATION... AINT THE SAME !!!

    DAFT PUNK = LIVE ACT

    TIESTO = DJ SET

PAUL VAN DYK = DJ SET + LIVE ACT

GET INFO BEFORE U COMMENT !

  • @200117425

DON'T FORGET SOME KNEEPADS AND A SOFT, PLUMP PAIR OF SPREADED ASS CHEEKS.

  • How is better to control the fx? nano pad or nano kontrol?

    I have a midi mixer

  • @luisanchez948 nanoKONTROL because of the knob and fader selections

  • Cool Music! very good!

  • thats a very good mix i would love to hear more. i got a korg kaossilator it is fucking fun!!! a little pricey but its kool

  • want this so much .. ! perfect dude !

  • @xbuster17

THIS IS THE MODERN DJ SET, THE OLD STYLE VNYL DJ SET IS SO LAST (5?) YEARS. EVERYONE IS USING MIDI CONTROLLER NOW. JUST A LAPTOP PLAYING? THEY MADE THE LOOPS. STUPID! GO PLAY DJ HERO, AND YOU'LL FIND DAFT PUNK USING MIDIS NOT A VNYL DJ.

  • ya, genius, they're called midi controllers. look at everygreat "DJ" these days and no one rocks turntables. bassnectar, pretty lights, even daft punk, all use midi. so i'd scope some jazzy jeff if you wanna see some records. ass.

  • can u assign it to the ableton live 8 suite?

  • there's no need for re-recording since the original tracks are out there with better quality ,..i hate this kind of djs... it's not a live set it's not a turntable . then what is it ? oh it's just a laptop playing and a dude with a camera,,, bravo

  • i hate u writing comments that r dump its a set where he uses midi controllers. whats wrong with that. do u know what midi is??haha

  • @xbuster17 What elvizzo89 is doing is a simplified version of a technique called controllerism. This is as valid a form of making music as picking up an instrument or using decks. I say, "Keep up the good work".

  • @xbuster17 its not like he didnt prepare all the loops and sounds... He made all the loops and then if he were to ever DJ a place, he would trigger the loops in a cool, live dj type fashion.

  • :D what laptop is it ?

    Acer?

  • a little deadmau5ish:P

  • i feel that

  • stop moving around while shooting with the CAM I got a headache!

  • Very nice! - any chance of re-recording it through the comp?? Most of your work is lost to poor audio.

  • tight song elvizzo89

  • would you like some wires with that? Good stuff though, thinking of getting a NanoPad or a PadKontrol, any ideas for what would work best for live Drum n Bass at all? Any help appreciated :)

  • nanopad by a long shot man!!!!!!!1

  • Desperate for Help!!!!!

Ima total noob with both ableton and the korg nanopad and need to now on how to sync the nanopad as a sampler to ableton live, if that makes sense. any1 who can help please do!!!

  • dude did u get help on using ableton i got it my self and im totaly fucking clueless and the videos and tutorials do not help at all lol

  • not yet, semi-figured it out

  • its simple, at least with the nanopad. You select the midi button in the top right hand corner of session view and the bits you can assign are highlighted blue. Select a clip you want to assign and press the pad you want to assign it to, done :) hope it helps

  • thanks man got it now.

  • Korg Korg nanoPad & nanoKontrol...low prices

  • Does it work with reloop digital jockey 2 ie + traktor? =)

  • @hensemanden123 I think yes

  • what exactly does the nano control?

can you play loops with this thing and use some effects which u assign to the knobs via ableton or what?

could anybody explain it to me? ^^

  • Short answer, yes.

The nanokontrol unit (closest to the camera, in front of the nanopad unit) has sliders, knobs and buttons. The sliders like control volumes of the various loops playing in the track. The knobs, either panning left/right or maybe level of certain parameters like decay/reverb/etc. The buttons to the left of the slider may be for muting and solo-ing a particular loop.

    My guesses, anyway.

  • thanks alot man !

  • its just a midi controller, don't have one but i'm pretty sure it comes with some software that lets you assign the buttons to whatever you need. lots of soft synths have a "learn" mode where you can assign the pads or knobs to triggers, sounds, notes, knobs, etc.

  • You don't need any software, if ableton recognizes the midi controller. If it's the case you ctrl-M , click a command on abeton, turn a button on the Korg and you've done :)

  • @hanfbrot I think its a midi controller then it may send cc# play/stop bank change....

  • please invest in a tripod.

  • Impressive.

  • create a new audio channel. Set input to Resampling.

then arm track for recording (clicking on the red circle) so you can record your session with professional sounding audio.

  • what speakers are they?

  • ... and good video :D

  • Windows 7 I think is just as good as Leopard. I haven't used snow leopard though.. unfortunately. Im using reason 4 a lot at the moment, and it is running so fuckin smooth on my windows 7 machine right now I never thought it was possible on windows based machines :P I grew up with windows though, so mac just annoys me :L

  • haha, yeah right.

  • well done.. i like it :D

  • this sounds so much like dubfire its not even funny. great shit.

  • dude, this is impressive.

  • Mac is a whole other operating system as windows... I bet you never worked on a mac..

ps For music production it doesnt matter what system you have.. But in the Grafic industrie all things are based on Macintosh

  • what laptop is this? and please don't answer "omg nub get a mac" I have one already

  • acer aspire 6920g

  • rofl. I asked myself the same question. And I am a macuser, too :D

  • I love macs, but the only "problem" is the mac I have a desktop, and I don't feel like paying 2k bucks for a mac laptop.

  • @HeavenFort omg nub, get a mac.

  • @skaterblo get LinuX! :o]

  • @kryonikx

i have UBUNTU 11.04 FUCK YEAAAAAAAA

  • @skaterblo lol what a fag

  • Comment removed

  • @skaterblo in this vid i dont see what a mac would change.

  • @mauserrmusic it would change the fact that he has no mac...just sain'

  • @mauserrmusic its just a trend to use mac.. rich gays prefer mac. :) i have a macbook pro but i prefer my desktop pc :3

  • @skaterblo omg uber-noob. PC is extremely better for producing music :p hands down.

  • oh snap! you got me.

  • dios

  • I am thinking before I post. I am an IT professional. Not someone who looks at the pretty ads. They arent reliable, They die just like every other computer, but you can repair a PC. Look at the iPhone for christ's sake, pitiful device wasting a lot of potential. Dont see any core i7s in them either do you? You have been fed bullshit my friend, take it from a system builder.

  • I totaly agree. PCs are just as reliable as a mac. macs make people stupid imo people don't learn how to do anything. for them self with a mac. your more of a sheep to buy a mac than to buy/build a windows/linux system.

  • Comment removed

  • The only thing PCs are useful for is gaming. That's why generally gamers buy PCs and top designers/music producers buy Macs. Better, faster more reliable user interface for those applications. And with regard to pretty ads...have you seen a Dell ad recently? At least Apple's advertisements are tolerable!

  • Oh and I agree with the fact that Garage Band is a bag of shite, but it's exactly what is says on the tin, it's for people messing around with their garage band trying to get tracks together...it doesn't really claim to be anything more

  • Nice set! i want the nanokontrol! i have the nanopad, check out my live set!

    watch?v=VTOiNJZQGrk

  • nice tune matey

  • Nice

  • dud u better invest in speakers....

  • your not very good are you

  • Comment removed

  • aye , nice . what computer are you using ? I'm having to purchase one now - why I'm asking .

    x

  • Aw LAWL! i have the same computer and will purchase the same controller! AHAHAHAHAHA

  • Really stomp bass! Love it ^^

I have those 2 controllers too!

    Keep up.

  • how do you make that siren sound on ableton?

  • getting him tommorow:F

  • NICE! i was just buying them online:D cant wait till i get em

  • 000

  • how much did you pay?

    i want one!

  • they are around 59€ each! Wich is CHEAP ^^

  • Just google it the time you spent writing that comment you could have found out damn.....

  • what kind of laptop are you using?

  • buy a mac...that will work much better

  • I totally agree, I just got my Mac, and I love it to bits, Garage Band is just as good as Ableton in my opinion. And a lot less difficult to use!

I have the Korg nano-pads. I think they're good, but sometimes unresponsive to my taps. I've noticed in the '09 Garageband you can mess around with MP3 songs, taken from iTunes and such. I'll give it a try when I can find my bloody cable!!

  • Garage Band??

    0_0

    seriously?

  • Yep. It's fantastic.

  • The money you spend on your mac, everyone else spends on real equipment that destroys garage band. and its easier to use because its garbage band.

  • Bit of a stupid think to say!! I've just moved to mac, last week. I'm a professional Sound Designer I run Ableton as my main daw. Sure macs are expensive, and for good reason, reliability in the studio and live environment.

    Think before you post mate.

  • there are DEFINITLY differences in th OS...believe me...

Macs dont get infected by viruses etc...are more efficient...OSX is more intuitive...but u dont know anything and just talk shit...

it dont matters who produces with what...i use Mac Pro, if i need it, i use Win...and i would never ever change completely to windows...yuppi - thats so dumb...

  • of course you could partition your hard drive and run os x on the secondary partition. or flip it and partition your mac and run win7 from it's secondary partition.

    null argument.

  • more efficient how?

the only thing i will agree with is that they are less susceptible to viruses. and have less interuptions as far as system messages go. and neither of those two things are beneficial enough to pay nearly double the price for half the performance.

  • Look at any top producer and see what they use, Mac dude, plain and simple.

  • dios--- dubfire

  • Got all 3 nano components the other day, excellent!

  • are the faders motorized???

  • no, I'm afraid not

  • thanks pal!

  • midi is a one channel one input thign if you dont get a program to hum both or already have a built in second to do so your pc will only run one. midi at a time

  • same problem here! i can't map the knobs on my KONTROL

    halp!

  • how did you setup the nanopad and kontrol with ableton? i cant get mine to work whatsoever

  • there's a tutorial on ableton about setting up midi, assign Kontrol and Pad as control surfaces. I found that sometimes Ableton's not picking them up, maybe bcause the Korg usb hub isn't a powered hub. I might get a powered one and try to sort it.

  • same here..

  • hooo oliver hunteman y espektre!!! wow q moderno y original!!! jaja

  • boring

  • what softhware are you using????

  • Ableton Live. the best software to DJ-ing and live performance

  • Could you hook up like 4 nanopads to ableton and use them all for clip launching? Would they work in a USB hub? Not all MIDI hardware does. Cheers.

  • I believe you would need a powered hub, but you should be able to do it.

  • Yes you can, and yes. they can be used in a normal hub

  • check out the new ableton/akai apc 40

  • Wie wärs mal mit anständigen Boxen?

  • I'm a newbie on ableton.

are the 7 parameters on ableton effects?

so you mix the songs on arrengment view and add the effects?

    thank you

  • ma che stai a fa?

  • come scusa

  • Is it possible to use it in some other sequencer with NI Battery VST?

  • yes!

  • like what you do combining the x-y pad with the sound in the pad... & i guess its easy to set it up...

    good tune..

    =)

  • Not bad at all!!

Check my new track! "Get get down" :p

I did it with Ableton live and some VSTI
