i just noticed paul mccartney plays his barrechords like this. i learned to do it the other way, does this one have any advantages or is it just personal preference
dang it i just tried every possible position with my left hand and i just cant get a clear chord sound because i cant bend down my thumb so far.. maybe my guitar neck is too thick.. i think ill stay with barre then
Thanks for sharing! Using the F form without the 6th string works well, and the thumb over the top is used a lot by the pros. I usually hold the neck like I'm bunting in baseball (thumb parallel to the neck).
To be honest its probably best to learn the way where you bar the fret with your index finger first, because reggae and ska are the only genres where these are used frequently so its helpful to know the other way.
thanks! i've always played my 2nd set of bar chords the way you're doing it with the third finger on those 3 strings. i'm glad i found someone else doing it.
Thank you SOOO much!! :) u r awesome! :)

Does the thumb on the lowest string really matter or traditional barre chords with the first finger usable for ska?
