  • Happy 100th birthday Johnny!

  • Gorgeous and Beutiful Smile

  • he is so adorable here, lovely smile ^^

  • Phroso was such an awesome character.

  • Why is everyone asking dirty questions about Johnny Eck?

  • Johnny is so handsome!

  • he's really cute!

  • God hes gorgeous

  • gotta love that smile of his

  • I must agree. ;) He was quite handsome in those days. He's almost always smiling and very upbeat in the film. He's also the fastest runner at the end of the film.

I would say my favorite shots are probably his conducting at the wedding feast or perhaps when he pulls out the gun (he and Jerry got the two most bad-ass shots of the film). This one (especially when he greets Venus) and his prancing walk at the beginning are also cute.

Johnny Eck and Angelo Rossitto are my favorites in the film.

  • yeah when he and Jerry pull out there weapons and start polishing them, they rival Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood in badassness haha

  • he so good looking and charismatic in the movie, if he had been born modern day he could totally be a News Anchor or something like that. Johnny XOXO

  • He'd have been great as a news anchor.

Actually, Fox News anchor Charles Krauthammer is paralyzed from the neck down and is in a wheelchair and you'd never know it (you never even see the chair). He only ever moves his face, but you'd just never guess.

Johnny would have no problem hiding his lower body at a news desk and he was naturally charismatic. It was quite an impressive idea that the DVD extras on Freaks thought that Johnny would be good as an anchor in this era.

  • how did MR.ECK use the bathroom?

  • Like any other human being ;)

  • i wanna know if he had a penis or if it was just a hole or knob to pee out of or if he did have a penis how he had sex? immature i know but human curiosity

  • He had everything you need (he was born fully functional), including two withered legs and feet (there's a picture). Everything was just in a truncated torso.

He had Sacral agenesis. There's a woman with the same condition who had two children. I think that answers the question about what is in the body.

Johnny didn't seem to have it as easy in the romance department as some of the people with the same condition around today. Some of his drawings show the frustration. Neither twin married.

  • You sound like you might know the answer to this....a few years back Leo DiCaprio had the rights to Johnny's life...he would play Johnny and his brother Robert in the film...whatever happened to it??

  • The last thing I knew about this film is that its development was "quiet", but I do not know why.

About the information of Johnny`s "sex" pictures, you can see it on the web "Johnny Eck Museum.

  • I love this movie.

  • I read on the Internet that Johnny Eck played a small role in a chapter of a series called "Beverly Hillbillis" Is that true?

If that is true, Can anyone tell me what is the chapter in which it appears?

  • No-one wants that retard to play Johnny Eck in a movie, someone else should play Johnny Eck!

  • Actually, he's a pretty good actor now, and they do look vaguely similiar. To clarify, there was never going to be a remake, but they were thinking of doing a biopic.

  • I've just heard that a movie is on the run to be released n 2009. Leo DiCaprio is supposed to be the producer, but I don't know more about the fact.

I would like that Stephen Dorff played the main character, he is very, very looking like Johnny.

  • I've heard that Johnny did have small vestigial legs that he kept hidden...There was supposed to be a movie in the works with Leonardo DiCaprio playing Johnny....how cool would that be?!

  • A modern remake of Freaks would be interesting...but it'd have to be done just right. Like the 1990 remake of Night Of The Living Dead.

  • The movie is supposed to be a biopic about Johnny and his brother. A first project about it, with DiCaprio playing both roles, died in pre-production around 2001. Now I've just found some news about this upcoming movie.

  • @brnleague99 Actually, it was sorta remade..But trust me..You don't wanna see it...I saw it on a horror channel 2 years ago..It's quite disturbing..

  • @GoddessOfCats Are you talking about "She-Freaks" from 1967? I know what you mean.

  • @brnleague99 No, it's not that one. The move I'm talking about is called "Freakshow". It was an independent film made in 2007 by The Asylum. The movie had the same basic plot as Freaks. A beautiful "normal" woman (from a thief gang) marries one of the freaks for his money, does something to anger the entire group and gets turned into a sideshow herself. The movie is incredibly gory. The most disturbing part of the movie is the gang brutally murdering one of the freaks (just a little girl.)

  • @brnleague99 "Freakshow" was so violent and disturbing, that it was banned in 43 countries! (It displays this proudly on the DVD cover.)

  • Man, it's pretty sobering--inspiring, too--to see how all of these "freaks" were able to overcome such severe disabilities. The Phreequeshow site is full of such life stories.

I still can't imagine how people like Johnny Eck managed their bodies' excretory functions without a pelvis, though. It just shows how much we really take for granted in our day-to-day lives, doesn't it?

  • Now, you just let MR Eck worry about his personal details--and you all worry about your own! I'm sure he managed, seeing as how he lived a full life for 80 years! ;p

  • True, true.
